Australia?

I just heard not to long ago and someone said that Australia will have the DLC tommorow. Is this true? I hope so because then we will know more about the DLC.

It would be a first if we did, as every other DLC for the fallout series has been released the day after its release date, due to us being ahead in time. just to further check nothing up on steam so far

They will have it earlier then us, but on the correct date at the same time that we get it, but sooner. Time zones make my brain hurt. :yucky:

It will be out tomorrow Tuesday, around 7-8pm if the previous DLC and Fallout 3 ones are anything to go by. Perfect for a couple of hours of gaming fun before bed!

So it must be 6:00 PM, Monday, in Australia now. I live in Pacific Standard Time (west coast of North America) and it is 2:00 AM on Monday morning. Quick, I must edit my previous post like the Ministry of Truth! :bolt:

If you're on the east coast (GMT+10). If you're in South Australia or the Northern Territory it'd be 5:30, and if you're in Western Australia it'd be 4PM. It's a bloody big country mate

Wait till summer - the Eastern states (New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory) go on summer time (called Daylight Savings Time in AU), so GMT+11, except Queensland which continually votes against implementing it, so they stay at GMT+10. The central states (South Australia and the Northern Territory) go on summer time as well (GMT+10:30). Western Australia doesn't currently implement summer time stays at GMT+8, except now and then they'll trial it, in which case they become GMT+9. So during summer you end up with 4 time zones (2 of which are in the same time zone band), as you have to check each year whether or not WA has decided to trial it again

Australia is approximately the same size as the continental US.

As to the topic at hand, lol, yeah, right. Australia won't get it first, don't worry. It all tends to come out roughly the same time, unless one of the countries admins [censored] something up.

The question is will it be $10 or $13.

Usually it's $10 and then a few weeks later they change to $13 but I think that's because they made a mistake. I have $10 in my paypal so if it's $13 I'm just going to rage.

Yeah, like how the base game was listed as $50AU for months on pre-order, then it changed to $90 or something, even though $AU was near parity with $US :swear:

that [censored] has been happening since 2009...it started with 2K games and Borderlands, only those greedy bastard didnt lift the price until 3 weeks AFTER the game was released. Oh and they claimed it was error on Steam's behalf just like when Borderlands was supposed to be released in AUS and NZ the same day as the US, then at 0:01 on the count down they change AUS and NZ to being released with the Europeans 3 days later. Seriously you americans think it bad when a Euro or Asian game is late getting your country, try being in our position of US companies grouping us with Europe and the Euro's love to group us with you North Americans.

Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration. There's only been about two dozen games refused classification, and most of them have been modified afterwards to pass. There's a list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_banned_video_games#Australia. Interesting to note that 50 Cent: Bulletproof is on the list for "high impact violence and cruelty", the latter presumably referring to people unfortunate enough to play it.

The problem is that although game ratings are legislated federally and enforceable by law there's no rating above MA-15+, therefore when presented with something like GTA they must either deem it ok for 15yos to play or refuse classification, which effectively bans its sale. Interesting parallel to the recent proposed changes to game ratings in California, where I believe there would have been a suitable "advlt" category. FWIW, if there was such a provision in Australia I'd fully support the OFLC, but since there isn't, I won't.

But yes, I believe Australia's OFLC is why we have Med-X instead of Morphine.
