Ok, I admit it, I've never used Wrye Mash before.

Thing is, I literally have no idea how to use this thing. I look at the download and see nothing resembling an executable file, and the documentation is all nonsense that has no meaning because it's referencing an interface I've never seen.

I apparently need to learn how to use it because I intend to update my version of the Morrowind Patch Project (because nobody else apparently wants to do it for me), and I know of no other way to add data to an .esm file.

So, yeah... help?

(Or, if someone just wants to be really nice and do it for me... I'll just list the changes I intend to make)

? Merged with Slartibartfast's "Poorly Placed Object Fix"

? Crito Olcinius/Laurina Maria - unchecked "auto-calculate"

? Crito Olcinius - removed second "Masterful Red Wisdom" spell

? Shadbak Gra-Burbug - set as owner of all items on the table that she's standing beside

If you downloaded the normal version (aka not standalone), you'll have to install Python to even run it. You can find download links for that http://wryemusings.com/Wrye%20Mash.html.

Edit: The only thing left after that is to unzip the Data Files and Mopy folders of the download right in your morrowind folder and then Mopy->Wrye Mash for Python 2.5.

That link is now obsolete because it directs you to http://wrye.ufrealms.net/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi and I can't find a download for Wrye Mash 84.

In case you didn't know but both http://mw.modhistory.com/download-95-5565 (Python 2.5) (http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=4233, Python 2.6.5 can also be used) and http://mw.modhistory.com/download-95-5568 is now hosted on http://mw.modhistory.com/ and you can also find http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27588 on Nexus. :)

I had the exact same experience. I still use TESTool for everything. :) I haven't had any real problems so far, but I also don't run a lot of mods that are likely to conflict.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who finds Mash confusing.

Usually you change the mod from .esm to .esp, edit/merge/do what you want with TESCS, then change it back to .esm when done. Mash has a handy copy to .esp/copy to .esm right click option, or you can do it from other tools (http://abot-morrowind.tk/index.php?option=weblinks&task=visit&id=32&-Morrowind-Enchanted-Editor with File\change file type), but seriously, Mash is well worth the hassle of installing it.

Enchanted Editor is awesome. The ability to remove dependency on .esm alone is worth it's electronic weight in gold septims.
