The Failure of the Outcast; A Fallout 3 Tale

Post » Tue Jul 19, 2011 8:47 pm

Hey,
I wrote a blog about the Outcasts and how they come from leaving the Brotherhood, to eventually fighting them! While adding a few bookmarking sites, I thought where better to put a blog on Fallout then the Fallout forum?

While this isn't all down to earth, true complete Fallout, it works around the events that take place in Fallout3. It starts a-bit before the Lone Wanderer is born and ends after the end of Broken Steel. Some of the ideas just sprung up from the Top of my head, others come from my knowledge of wars in the West. Some characters are made up, others are actually played in the game.
It's quite a long read, but I have put a great deal of effort into the blog. It's address is below:

Thanks to anyone who reads!

I note a problem with your story the numbers chefly, 400,000 super mutants? umm no way to huge. I don't think The Master's Army was that large. How did Casadin get 2,000 troops, or the much huger number later. He shouldn't be recruiting outsiders except for grand exceptions the brotherhood doesn't do that. Also the outcasts left in 2276 but thats rather minor.

Okay, number-wise, I know the NCR has around...100,000 troops in Cali? So I made the numbers based around that figure. 400,000 Super-Mutants may have been steep, but Lyons and others always talk about the "high-amount" of Mutants infecting D.C. So, I put a dramatic number to showcase that "high-amount".

The idea of Castin getting troops is that he's desperate. He knows the Outcasts will never be able to take on Lyons' Brotherhood without substantial recruitment in the Capital Wasteland; thus he employees the help of those whom are more evil in the Wastes. That's how he get's 40,000 troops in the final battle. He takes 2,000 troops out with him when he goes against Lyons.

And yeah - I couldn't hit the dates perfect.
I know you may be abit baffled about the numbers, but c'mon? It sounds more cooler when 4,000 troops move, rather than 10.

I enjoy writing so it was nothing. Most of it's from the top-of-my-head so I finalized it within 20 minutes.
