Small annoyance that I hope they won't bring back to Skyrim

Post » Wed Jul 20, 2011 10:04 am

What I din't like so much in Fallout 3 was as soon as you killed a enemy and you want to search the body for items and such. You had to wait a few seconds before you were able to search the body. In Oblivion as soon you killed somebody you could immediately loot the body. Any body else who had this small annoyance?

I know exactly what you mean, and I agree, it was annoying. The same thing happened with jumping + interacting. In Fallout, you had to wait until the jump landed until you could press the interact button. Whereas in Oblivion, it could be pressed at any time.

I've never had that problem in Fallout.

I never had that problem. What I did like about FO is that any part of enemies had their possession, even the ones they dropped. Oblivion could of used this.

Hey, I don't have this problem. I always kill enemies mid-air while jumping and loot them still mid-air. :tops:

Searching bodies is a staple of RPG's I've always found odd. IRL, if I searched a corpse that I'd found or killed myself, I think it's fair to say that my behavior would come across as abnormal and I'd likely be shunned for it.

When you kill someone, you don't take their clothes. That's just weird. It's weird on Earth and it's weird on Nirn.

If they have some uber armor, idgaf if people shun me. I'll kill them too.

Not so weird actually. It was considered a right during medieval wars to gather weapons etc. It's only in modern times it's kinda frowned upon.

Excellent point. I'll be sure to keep that in mind. However, when you find a corpse, picking it in public should get you some funny looks, if not an arrest.

in Fallout 3 i'm pretty sure NPCs would [censored] at you for looting the dead. i know they'd [censored] at you if you picked up a body part and threw it across the room.

On Nirn, it's spoils of war.

On post-apocalyptic earth, its surviving.

Well, it does take a few seconds to search a corpse for loot. Its not like when you kill a person, all their loot spills out in the open ready for the taking.

hahahah, it's obvious you have never been in a war, nor read about it.

Nazi soldiers could easily have a brawl over a pair of boots back in the II WW.
