Rating 18

I don't know if you were kidding or not, but if you're honestly 47 and can't play M rated games because your wife won't let you, then ... I don't even know what to say. I've lost all faith in mankind.

Didn't say I can't, but the wife doesn't like it. If the momma doesn't like it then momma isn't happy. If momma isn't happy ... nobody is happy.

Personally I don't want that kind of gore/six in the game anyway, it just distracts from what I want from the game, which is a fun RPG adventure.

Ha! Here I have seen 6 year olds playing GTA San Andreas:)

But, well I think the maximum rating should be 15 (for all games, are those guys at ESRB puritans or something?) 15 year olds HAVE seen porm/extreme violence anyway!

Agreed!

I would rather suffer in the hell than let anyone tell me what I should and should not do.

in fact isn't that what people usually die to have ??? the freedom to make our own mistakes/experiences...

The fact that it's not released yet, and has only been given a provisional rating.

Sad news for you. If you decide to live on planet earth never a day will go by that you are not under someone's authority. You can live with that and be happy, or be miserable, but the fact remains.

It occurs to me that the folks down at ERSB are not censors.

They provide a service by performng reviews and provide ratings, based on content.

I don't think they censor anything.

To get a certain rating, developers must meet the equivalent standards for a desired rating.

The developers do the censoring based on their own desires to meet specific goal (rating), if they have one.

The devs have indicated that Skyrim will be a dark and gritty environment.

I watch The Game of Thrones a lot, and it reminds me a little of how I would like Skyrim to be, an interesting story, with raw, dark, and gritty environments.

A mature themed game, crafted in a world similar to The Game of Thrones television series, but with the Elder Scrolls artistic touch.

From what I have seen to date, TES is headed in the right direction for theme; their way.

If you don't enjoy violence that's one thing, but don't let your wife nag you out of things you do enjoy. Don't be one of those guys that contributes to the typical castrated man in a relationship stereotype; that stereotype is just so embarrassing that it pains me to see instances of it being true.
