Tagging. How to get shake of?

Post » Wed Jul 20, 2011 5:12 pm

If player tag the person from visor, tag seems to last some time and then disapearing, even if that person not killed.

But I want to ask about:
1) How to know if you were been tagged?
2) How to shake visor tagging of yourself, if it's possible?
3) Maybe some cloak manipulation like cloak-uncloak-cloak may shake the visor tag if you were tagged?

The main...How to avoid tagging, and how to shake it if you thinking you were tagged?

Blind Spot II module provides protection from tagging. About your other 2 points: I don't think it's possible to know or to shake off the tag.

AFAIK - Tagging lasts a certain amount of time and then stops. If you have been tagged there is no way for you to know. Blind Spot lvl2 prevents you from being tagged.

Your screen goes fuzzy for a moment when you are tagged

Think that depends on your graphical settings, do you have motion blur on?. I think they nerfed tagging now, as it only lasts like 30-45 seconds. Used to last ages before.

I have settings on max in Dx9 including MAXIMUM MOTION BLUR >:D
I don't think it's related to motion blur though and besides, high and ultra look nearly the same anyway

I don't see it anymore with motion blur off. Thats why I figured it could be motion blur.

There used to be times my screen would go fuzzy until I died, wonder if that was tagging.

The main...How to avoid tagging, and how to shake it if you thinking you were tagged? Many have already stated some tips but I would like to answer everything in one post.

1) You will have no idea if you have been tagged, contrary to madness' there is no graphic effect for when you are tagged by someone. The only kind of graphical feedback you'd get is maybe if you aim-down-sights against someone with deflection (making it harder to aim at them) but that's it.

2) There is no way to shake a tag off you except by time-lapse or death. No amount of mode-changes will fix this. You just have to hope you have the skill and luck to survive the onslaught of an entire enemy team knowing exactly where you are even behind walls and cloak. This answers 3 as well.

As previously mentioned, to eliminate the chance of being tagged altogether you need [Blind Spot II], this means when an enemy player tries to tag you it gives them a big red X in their crosshairs instead (Much like trying to tag a enemy who was just killed) It won't stop a smart player from knowing an enemy unit was there but they can't highlight them on their allies screens either.

To obtain [Blind Spot II] you must kill a number of enemies during enemy maximum radar bonus, I forget the amount needed but it's less than you'd typically need for a straight 'Kill x enemies' skill assessment. Fortunately [Blind Spot I] hides you from maximum radar so you're not at too much a disadvantage levelling it up and you can lull some enemies into a false sense of security (Those who pay attention to the radar will be more focused on the dots they can see rather than the ones they don't)

Thanks to all of you who answered and gave tips about that. Especially Oneirohero that gathered all facts about that thing. ^_^

For me at least, when I am tagged then my screen goes a little blue and shakes a little, and I use very high settings.

For me at least, when I am tagged then my screen goes a little blue and shakes a little, and I use very high settings. So does Deflection's "Aim down sights jamming" effect as well. This probably demands a test (Someone tags a friend on the opposite team, friend says if they see anything different) but I haven't really made any in-game friends to ask to help with this inquiry.

EDIT: To clarify why I think tagging shouldn't give anybody visual effects is the way that it seems to work suit-wise. Tagging is just a super-advanced optical reader, your suit scans the tight area where your binocular crosshairs are and when it detects an enemy unit it relays their position to the radar. Why would an optical reader cause an enemy nanosuit stress (which is what the graphical effect is for, it happens with the jammer capsule and the extraction chopper fields)?

Well, may be the suit has a built in warning system what detects when someone is tagging you, but overall the tagging should only give the tagged players position while another player has the visor sight over them not even after no one is actually seeing him. (that's an argument for the "how does it work" topic, I like how the tagging works currently xD)

I was tagged a few times as a sniper killer }:-> and you get some fuzzy electrical blur effect over your screen, when they press F, so you can "feel" that multiple times if he presses F multiple times xD

But I like how some players panic when I tag them and my team on their neck }>-D
