OWB! How'd ya like the weapons?

Post » Thu Jul 21, 2011 1:48 pm

and oh yea: I've been using the swear-word out of the [unique?] proton axe dropped from the named lobotomite in the Cuckoo's Nest. Combined with the SUper Slam perk it completely trivializes roboscorpions and I love it. Too bad I havent seen it work the same way on Cyber Dogs. Guess they're not considered robotic?
On very hard any close range weapons are suicidal, so i don't exactly know, but dogs counts as living creatures by eating perk.

im on Hard difficulty (not Very Hard, just Hard) and it's already ridiculous. I die very, very quickly to nightstalkers and cyberdogs so I can imagine how much more of a pain it is on Very Hard

fun fun!

Sonic emitter is amazing because you get free repairs from the jukebox

I had a hard time on even Normal when using melee weapons. Still played on VH for the challenge though. ^_^ Just wanted to see the difficulty difference in OWB.

I thought the weapons were creative (especially the "dog gun"), but I felt like they weren't very effective against the enemies that constantly spawned on top of me. Especially the robo-scorpions; I had a lot of trouble with them for some reason. =/

Melee... They are unusable on very hard, where to be near enemy means be dead, so i don't care about them.

I beg to differ. At level 45, the enemies have so much health that they're almost impossible to put down with any kind of lighter weapons. The super-heated version of the saturnite fist was allowing me to dish out large amounts damage because it benefits from the Pyromaniac perk. It's also cheap to repair since there are so many of those fists around. It would have been much, much harder to get through the game without that bad boy available.

On a side note, the difficulty of the enemies at level 45 makes me think that the DLC would be a lot easier if you selected the Logan Loophole perk. You'll be nearly as powerful at 30 as 45 and the enemies you have to face will probably be easier.

Well, the sonic gun is disappointing for an EMP (good thing i brought the Pulse Gun), but the LAER is excellent, if not the prettiest gun. And i still don't see the "dog" in K9000  Well, the picture of a dog, the "ears", the brains, the bark and whine, but not the "dog".

I like christines rifle. I almost flipped when I saw it because well, my characters a guns character and I'm running extremely low on brush gun bullets and refuse to use the dog gun because it doesn't kill much

That unique proton axe is rather nice to, helps me kill nightstalkers and the such. Robots to.

I would love the stealth suit. If it would shut the [censored] up. But it doesn't so it's going back in my safe at Novac.

On songle enemy or low difficulties - maybe. But on very hard they 'll put you down in few seconds.

I still wish we got more energy weapons, but really just a sniper rifle to make a complete set of weapons, one for long range, one for medium range and one for close range. The energy weapons were cool. K-9000 and FIDO are inacurrate for having a scope, although I always feel bad for unequiping them. Axes were cool, but ineffective, and there were too many unarmed weapons how many [censored] gloves were in that DLC? Armor wise, recon armor was cool, Lobotomite armor was worthless and the Stealth suit is actually pretty good, decent enough armor and allows even non-sneaking characters to use sneak (with all upgrades). Though I wish we had power armor, like an advanced version all shiny and chrome like the guns and suit.
