So good you had to make 2 threads =/

I got stuck in a half invisible house in Cheydinhall once and stuck in a rock in SI, oh and on KoTN it was skipping and glitching. Oh and the inevitable ps3 vampire bloodgrass glitch. Nothing major i couldnt get around though.

Just you wait until Shum Gro-Yarug leaps off the Skingrad castle bridge.

Or you end up with two copies of Ahdarji' ring and can't complete the quest.

Then we'll talk bugs.

ABOMB!!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

That′s what I call a stupid bug. Like, why even have a number change when you save and when it reaches a certain number it freezes animation?? C′mon devs! :shakehead:

Buffy's been playing long enough that I've had to fix the ABomb for her three times. I bet you have needed to fix it for Lothran perhaps twice as many times?

About seven times IIRC, and I think it′s time again in a hundred hrs. I know people say it′s no problem, just start another character. But I just can′t do that. I just can′t betray my old friend like that just because of a design flaw...

So to whoever made the program I use, here′s what I do for you:

My current save is only 25 hours out at this point. I'm already up to 85% on the counter, so the time when I will need to reset the Abomb is coming very soon.

Don't underestimate the allure of the game. It has a way of eating up time like you wouldn't believe.

What exactly does the A-Bomb do? I've heard about it before but I've never played a character long enough to get it.

It tends to build up bad mojo so that around 200-300 hours on the same character animations will start to slow down - the onset is fairly sudden and noticeable. This can be very noticeable if you cast a spell on yourself as the residual swirls take a long time to dissapate. Your pause for a door transition will lengthen dramatically as well. Once it starts, quite soon the game becomes unplayable as the door animations will soon simply freeze.

On the PC, it can be fixed via a variety of utilities. I used to use a program called OAF, but once I installed Wrye Bash, I discovered it is much easier to quickly and simply fix using a feature of Wrye Bash. I only play PC and it is easy to fix; for those not on PC, I don't believe it can be fixed which means the end of the character in question. I'm no expert, but I think I got all that right.

A couple of glitches that can be duplicated every time:
1) If you're a vampire taking sun damage and you heal yourself, then save the game right there while taking sun damage and restoring health at the same time, you've just corrupted your save.
2) If I have an enchanted head slot piece of apparel (including helments) with light and hotkey it; then when I have a save file with the enchanted head gear unequipped, play a ways where I do equip it, but then reload the save where it wasn't equipped; the game will show my character equipped (in 3rd person) with the enchanted head gear on without the light effect. Then when I go to equip the same head gear again, the game crashes.

If it wasn't for the UOP, I would have to be careful how much I fence before I start the next quest in the TG quest line. If I fence too much, that leaves a higher potential of screwing up the TG questline, leaving it unable to be completed.

Yes, all of these are known bugs. There are many more. That's what happen with complex systems, after all, and not just games.

Actually, you could read the Unofficial Oblivion Patch changelog to see bugs they addressed and what you think about them as far as their severity is concerned.

Speaking of the Thieves Guild.

It is possible to trigger a stage of one of the later Thieves Guild quests prematurely. But if you do, you will break the ending and soft-crash the game when you trigger it. (Which is to say, the game is still running fine, but you the player are no longer able to interact).

Oh, and if you try to do An Unexpected Voyage while The Elven Maiden is running, the game will crash if you try to leave The Flowing Bowl after you finish the former quest.

I had a weird one the other day (I'm on 360) where I did all the Weatherleah quests, got the Escutcheon....well, you know how it goes. Don't want to post any spoilers. However, when I tried to equip it, it never showed up. The effect still worked, but I couldn't block, and when viewing my character, it was invisible. I can drop it and see it just fine, but for some reason, it's invisible when I equip it. Pretty useless now =(

I'm sure it's not the case, but this sounds exactly like normal enchanted shield behavior if you have a 2 hannded weapon equipped - enchantment works, but no block, armor rating increase or spell effectiveness penalty. Mages who use a staff or bow do this routinely to get another enchantment slot with no penalty to spell casting. I expect you have a one handed weapon equipped though, so what you describe sounds glitched as you say.
