Should there be different Mounts in Skyrim?

Post » Fri Jul 22, 2011 4:49 am

I'd be alright with a Guar mount, but I'm not sure if Skyrim as a province even has Guars. Certainly they could come in from Morrowind, but the same could be said for a lot of creatures to be honest. I'd rather they just add in different types of horses, like ponies (for our little Bosmers) and destriers, along with the typical riding horses that Oblivion had. So far I'm liking the way the horse looked in the demo.

Considering the way Guar were kitted out, it leads me to believe that they prooobably used as mounts in Morrowind... They just didnt add the feature due to limitations back then, and animation problems ect ect...

It's not like im saying HAY! I WANNA RIDE A GLOWING BLUE FIRE SABERTOOHCAT WITH LAZORS THAT PWN MAH ENEMEZ THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TES!!!!1111

<_<

Btw, never played WoW, never will.

Edit: Nakanja beat me too it

I played WoW for all of an hour before I decided it was rubbish and not worth my time.

I'm just going by what I understand, and what I've read in the TES wiki. It appears to me that guar were little more than pack animals (think brahmin from FO3), and not specifically mounts.

I kind of doubt that, if modders can do it the devs could have, Only better.

I think the Guar could be mounted. But they would be unreliable, like riding a cow as opposed to a horse.

EDIT: And they are pretty small, not to mention their stubby legs probably couldn't support a rider.

I would very much like a variation in mounts, but no dragons.

Oh heavens no, I didn't bring up any sort of PC vs console debate, I simply said "mods."

I certainly wouldn't mind more horse variety, that at least makes sense. Not really sure what the point of riding a giant mountain lion or something would be, though. Aside from "LOLWUT COOL AHM RIDIN A KITTY"

There are some variants of Khajiit, like the Senche and Senche-raht that are employed as mounts by other Khajiit. I'd like to have a Khajiit mount as an Argonian :)

Isn't there different variations on keghit and argonians? I don't see why we can't ride a giant cat or lizard. Not that I cared for mounts in oblivion. If I needed to get somewhere in a hurry, fast travel.

Yes, but they are all sentient. If someone asked you for a piggy back what would you say?

How is adding Guar mounts changing lore?

Too much earth in my nirn

Really? The magic, dragons, gates to Oblivion, trolls, etc. etc., and 10 different races isn't enough for you?

The more Earth, the better. The more it has realistic aspects, the more believable all that aforementioned stuff (magic, dragons, etc.) is, and thus deepens the immersion factor.
