Fallout Classic Collection

How do I make the screen smaller for a game in Fallout Classic Collection. More specifically Fallout 2. I played Fallout on my laptop and its size was fine. Got to my house and loaded Fallout 2 onto my desktop computer and the screen is slightly too big, so how do I shrink it?

Try the fan made high res patch, on no mutants allowed.

I mean the screen stretches off of the monitor, such as I can't give the character a name or age.

I have no idea, try checking settings, other than that I'm useless.

Nope that doesn't work. I'm pretty upset right now, even thought it doesn't affect the gameplay that much.

change the resolution to 640 by 480 in your res.ini or whatever your res is

Probally didn't do it the right way, but I went into the game properties, and under the compatability bar I put on 480x640 res. Then I played the game. The screen basically got extra huge and had an error message "Fallout is currently being run in compatability mode" and then I couldn't play it. Like I said I probally switched the resolution in the wrong place, so where else could I switch it?
