Help! Geck NV isn't working!

Hi,
I've been modding Fallout 3 with the Geck for a while now, and I was looking forward to starting New Vegas mods once I had finished the game.
I'm ready to start working on NV modding now, but I can't actually get it to do much. I can't make any new scripts, because the geck refuses to save any of them (I have heard some people have this issue because the NV geck doesn't display error messages, but I can't get even simple scripts I know for a fact will work).
I also can't seem to import anything. I want to add an older mesh from FO3, but it can't find the right directory even though I believe I have put it in the right place.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? I really, really want to get round to some ideas I have, but at the minute I'm limited to making somple buildings and nothing else, really. Can someone please help? Any advice would be appreciated. Is there any chance of a geck update in the near future?

If a script refuses to save there's a context error. But this would be better asked in the GECK forum. :)

Thanks for the reply, and sorry if I have posted this in the wrong area, I'm a bit forum illiterate. If I have further trouble, I shall be sure to post them on there :)
