Monkey Islands references in OWB

Post » Fri Jul 22, 2011 4:19 am

One is the song Mobius can be heard singing. It's the same theme as the dancing skeletons in Monkey Island.

Another one is The Sink's toaster psycho evil personality. Surely it's directly inspired from Murray, the very evil talking skull.

MWHAHAHAHAA<. Thanks for this. :celebration:

I thought the 7 Dwarves from Snow White at the Construction Site was cool. They are 7 Garden Gnomes with pick axes.

Murray! I forgot about that old geezer. He was my favorite character in the game.

I hadn't thought about it until now, but the WW music did come up just before I saw the cyber-dogs playing poker. So I guess you need it as a perk to see the funnier/silly stuff.

Here's the poker dogs. Posted for convenience. Maybe spoiler alert? http://i.imgur.com/hm5EO.jpg

It might require Wild Wasteland indeed. I reckon the first time I came across this place. The dogs were sitting tight and in an orderly fashion, looking at the board like good students. I used the auto-doc to change my guy a little and I picked Wild Wasteland trait this time around. Now the dogs are playing poker!

It does; I know where that's found, and without that trait they're just sitting there in rows watching the screen.

I laughed so hard at that. Mainly because I expected them to be looking at the screen like they were in the trailer. Totally unexpected.
