Legion Follower DLC Suggestion

Post » Fri Jul 22, 2011 9:42 am

Now while it would be highly unlikely I would like a DLC with a legion follower for New Vegas. The game comes with every type of follower coming from every different walk of life, Brotherhood, Followers, NCR, Merchant, ect. Everyone but the Legion. In HH we got the Burned Man but that wasn't permanent. I would be nice to add a legion follower as a dlc. It wouldn't have to be long, just the character some quest to meet them and their personal quest.

Anyone else want a legion follower?

So they removed him and gave him his own larger story line ?

Is that why there is the dead Curriers like it is beginning a quest but goes no where?

I think it would be awesome if after LR he came back to the Mojavi as a follower if you got the right ending of course. For those that kill him I don't see this happening.

But any thoughts on the original topic.

Too bad a Legion follower would, you know, enslave you.

First off, that is stupid. If you are a friend of the legion, you obviously will be a friend of the follower and he will not harm you in any way. A sperm cell could work that out.

Back to the question, I'm not sure about the specifics, but originally ulysses was meant to be a follower, and he had a whole questions with him, unique dialogue, all that good stuff.

Since all the resources are there already, I'm hoping he will come with you somehow after lonesome road.

My Julius is getting lonely, with just a ghoul and a robot to keep him company.

Let's look at it like this. The Legion wants to take over the Mojave, turning every man, woman and child into either a slave, a soldier or dog food.

Helping the citizens of the Mojave (as in, not doing one of the above), is counter-productive to Caesar's goals and therefore likely to get your follower annoyed with you.

And yeah, you're a friend of the Legion. Fine. But you're still a Profligate, as Aurelius of Phoenix, and many others, are more than happy to point out.

That's a bit of a simplistic view.

Dale Barton often prefers to trade in Legion territories, saying that he finds it cheaper as he rarely has to hire protection or pay extortionate taxes, due to the effectiveness of Legion suppression of raiders. Even Rose of Sharon Cassidy has admitted to admiring Legion-controlled areas, as they attract traders, Merchants, and Wastelander communities in general to their high level of safety, especially when compared to NCR territories and uncontrolled regions.

That's in Legion-controlled territory, though. I'm talking about enemy territory, where the Legion (except Caesar) just plain doesn't like you that much (and make no effort of hiding it, see above RE: Aurelius of Phoenix).

The philosophical question is whether the Legion encourages such, or merely permits such enterprises. They're at the edge of their territory in New Vegas, so the extra trade the outside merchants bring in is obviously beneficial as it helps them secure additional supplies necessary for their war effort. The real question is whether or not such free enterprise is permitted within their heavily secured territories.

"Thesis and antithesis. The Colorado River is my Rubicon. The NCR council will be eradicated, but the new synthesis will change the Legion as well... from a basically nomadic army to a standing military force that protects its citizens, and the power of its dictator."
-Caesar

Once he takes the Strip, he brings civilization. The Mojave's citizens are Caesar's Legion citizens. "Peacefully lording over the rest."

The children would get enslaved if they were girls and the women would get enslaved, and the guy next door named no-bark would become the legions crazy leader and say something on the radio like my teddy bear talked to me. :fallout: Which his Teddy bear would replace Legate Lanius
