Who do I contact?

Post » Fri Jul 22, 2011 11:01 pm

Steam's current version of Honest Hearts is corrupted. I contacted them, but they have chosen to ignore my support request.

So, who do I contact to get a working version of the DLC I paid for? Can Bethesda send it to me, if I show them a receipt?

First off this should be in the PC DLC hardware and software issues. Second off, what is the error message you get? does the game crash or does it just not let you load at all?

It crashes as soon as I start the first quest, every time.

Steam's file validation says 1 file failed to validate.

I've re-installed the game about 4 times, once with a complete reformat.

It has failed to validate every time.

You mean it crashes when you actually enter Zion? Is it before or after the beginning slides? If so, are you using a timescale mod of any kind. Altering the timescale away from the default 30 in anyway will cause a crash when entering Zion as 2 in-game weeks pass during the transition. Also, if you aren't aware, Project Nevada's Rebalance module alters the timescale by default.

This was with NO mods after a reformat, clean install of windows.

It crashes when I speak to the dude and tell him I'm carrying less than 50lb, and agree to go.

Hmmm... http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1183081-having-trouble-after-downloading-honest-hearts/ follow that link and as you have evidently followed the main instructions, delete your INI files first. They should be here:

\Documents\My Games\FalloutNV

Delete "FALLOUT" and "Falloutprefs"

Otherwise, I am not sure what else to do and I am not sure of the best way to contact Bethesda.

HAX MODE!

You beast.

It actually showed the Honest Hearts logo, hasn't crashed yet. I'm going to get on my current save and do it again, but.. you rock.

So... now dead money won't work, where it did before. And I did the same thing, deleted those files and reverified. Ideas? :(

Huh. Good thing someone forgot to tell that to my game. I always have timescale 12 and it has caused no issues.

As for the OP, it crashes when it should show the cinematics? I've heard of such issue before, i think it's usually caused by audio codec conflicts.
