While I really enjoyed Oblivion in most of it's aspect including the story. I really didn't enjoy the setting/world/map ... Yes it was vast and there was a lot to explore, but wow was it ever boring and bland. It's as if they took they took one region and then copied and pasted it 8x over. Terrain, dungeons, npcs and towns all seemed identical to one another no matter where you went for the most part. It would be nice to see the world a little more interesting and varied this time around so I don't feel like I'm exploring the same place over and over again while wandering throughout the world. There were a few exceptions, but yah mostly the realm that Oblivion took place in was one hell of a snoozefest.

Essentially I want to feel excited about exploring the world... In oblivion any region you went to had a guarded town that was pretty much a mirror image of every other town and they were all part of the same 'faction'. Wandering through grassy forests with occasional mountains littered with a few ruins, caves, temples and a half dozen oblivion gates... It pretty much felt like I was exploring the same area over and over again. I really don't want this to be the case in Sky Rim
