Post » Sat Jul 23, 2011 11:00 pm

I just started to play fallout new vegas and i noticed that it takes a LOT of bullets to kill one person.
It is really getting on my nerves because i cant kill anyone.
My game has the latest patch and is on steam, I play on hardore mode.
Can anyone help me?

It's the beginning naturally it will be hard to kill people as you have tier 1 guns. Once you get to level 16 or somewhere around there you will start to see better guns.

It's an RPG, damage is based off of weapon stats and skills, it isn't like CoD where you can pop out of corners and instant OHK headshot everyone with a pistol.

You're probably going up against armored enemies with lousy weapons and standard ammo, which is typical for starting out. The DT system works much differently than Fallout 3's DR system did; your attacks have to overcome the enemy's damage threshold, or they're not going to do much at all.

Stay away from the tougher, armored enemies until you've leveled up a bit and gotten some better weapons with armor piercing ammo. If you have no choice, try for head shots. Use cover and keep moving around so enemies have a harder time hitting you.

/\ This .

And some enemies are armored , meaning Amor Piercing rounds work better.

Just follow the main quest line to New Vegas. When you get there do as many "peaceful" quests as you can so you don't have to kill anything. Eventually you can run on over to the gun runners and get yourself a good quality gun.

I've been wanting to do this for a long time. Save up money, head to Gun Runners and purchase my self a gun I can call my own and love it. I never can. By the time I get the caps to buy a brand spankin' new Trail Carbine, I end up looting five of them. I only buy weapons/armor to repair them which is sad, I have yet to purchase gear at lower levels to call my own.

Then get something else, say a riot shotgun. Those are pretty rare to come by. And yes they can be pricey ranging to 7,000 caps but isn't that worth your life? Another good choice is the marksman carbine, but it is definately best to get the all American. And another cheap gun is the assault carbine, which uses very cheap ammo 5mm.
