Types of ore for forging

Post » Sun Jul 24, 2011 10:07 pm

I know there will be multiple types of ore, but I don't think anyone knows for sure what types where are, although I may be wrong. Anyhow anyone want to speculate? This is what I think

Likely:
Gold, silver, iron, ebony, glass, steal

Maybe:
Dragon, amber, fur harvested from animals also shell maybe leather also

Unlikely:
Madness, wood, obsidian (that would look badass though), perhaps other rare stones

Yeah I know but not sure if you will find it or you will have to go though the process
Of making it. Somehow I don't think they are going to have you cure heated iron in oil to make steal

-there are 13 types of ore (PlayStation Mag July 2011)
-Fur and Leather are not ores lol
-armor made from dragons is confirmed
-as far as i know, these are the most common ores associated with TES games; iron, steel, (whatever dwarven armor is made from, bronze i guess?), ebony (acually an ore for that lol), mithril, glass (i guess u cud call it an ore?), and a few other types i think
-the "dragon armor" is probably the armor set on the nord with a glass eye screenshot (it is covered in scales...)
-the fact that there will be 13 ores probably means that we will see some new types or types from older games

Maybe there'll be dragon scale armour (light) and dragon bone armour (heavy). :)

The disintegration of dragon corpses suggests otherwise. But it is not hard to create both varieties from the same material, it is a matter of it's make.

Fair point. :)

I know nothing of the lore behind dragons, but can they die of old age? Sounds kinda sappy huh! Or - leaving the gameplay practicality out of it - maybe they only disintegrate if they are killed by a Dragonborn and not if someone or something else slays them? The dragon bones in Morrowind suggest that they don't always just vanish.

Maybe scales just come loose sometimes, when they clash or maybe just as a means to allow new scales to take their place?

Maybe you can soultrap some lesser daedra and use it to turn Ebony into "Daedric" ore?

Dwemer, elven, and orcish armor I doubt we'll be able to smith ourselves, but silver, mithril, and glass seem very likely.
