I have a theory why the NCR is chasing ghost

Post » Sun Jul 24, 2011 7:38 pm

Hi everyone in think I found out why NCR is trying to clear out baja! I think that is were the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Circle_of_Steel_(Van_Buren) or at least NCR thinks they do. I think this because http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Circle_of_Steel now the reason i think that is The ranger leader Halon says they are chasing ghost. At first i thought this to be a Enclave force or the BOS which both went to war with NCR. However I believe it is the Circle of steel that is there.
Just my two caps and would gladly be grateful for any input

Could be anything really. There's no data on the COS to support the concusion - but absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence.

Got to say, this is quite plausible. I haven't played OWB's yet, and I always assumed the situation in Baja was just further expansion, but then I had to ask myself why would they send Veterans to Baja rather than focus on the Mojave from the offset, my first assumption was that they wanted a quick mop-up operation to secure the territory after the First Battle of Hoover Dam. Then I talked to Chief Hanlon who mentioned, "chasing ghosts." To me this was a obvious nod that Kimball and the NCR believed there was a serious threat there that couldn't be ignored, even with the War in the Mojave.

So I've got to say your theory is quite plausible indeed.

I think it could be them or something similar. The biggest evidence I see is Hanlon and the fact that the Veterans are down there.

It would be funny if a dev read this and thought "crap they got it..."

I though he said they were "chasing ghosts," which is just a figure of speach.

But it is possible that the veterans are looking for the circle.

Do I see a possible Fallout 4 location. They could put it in some city right near Mexico's Baja Pennisula, and if IIRC Jason Bergman said in Norweigin or something, that he won't give any hints, but the Mojave was fun to explore. I personally hate this statement I hated exploring the Mojave, it was boring.

I honestly never want a desert or west coast setting again. Mojave was okay, but its not my style.

I'd much prefer the midwest.

I feel the same way about the west, it is already starting to get "modernized" Instead of MW I want to see more east coast.

I'd imagine that it would look similar to the Capital Wasteland, which to me wasn't a true "desert" but more of a "nuclear wasteland".

I live in the midwest and there certainly aren't any deserts around here.

Go midwest! I agree it probally would be dirt and rocks, that isn't a traditional desert. But a desert is just an area that receives low amounts of precipitation, not sand. I imagine that rain would probally come pretty frequently. It probally just wasn't an idea in Fallout 3.
