No beheading and no lost limbs

I don't have any experience with it, but I would think partial beheading would be more accurate. From how I see it, to actually cut someones head off would take a sharp blade, a good arm, and a good angle.

I'm really impartial to what they decide to do. I think I would just prefer a stab and slash approach. Dismemberment worked out in Fallout 3 because it complemented the purpose of the game, which was to show a satirical look at human nature and how people are quick to choose violence over anything else just to secure their selfish interests. It tried to teach a good lesson in a funny, dark, and entertaining way and it needed that over the top, theatrical portrayal of violence. With the elder scrolls, I think a simple slash and stab mechanic would work well with the purpose of the game. I think Fallout 3 and the Elder Scrolls try to accomplish similar goals but in a very different way. It's hard to say.

Ya my bad on the beheading part you did not say "Behead", Beheading/dismemberment are basically the same thing

you did say they were known to cause dismemberment, beheading is dismemberment(part of the body) your going in word for word, i meant to say dismemberment i just used behead instead to shorten it. I am not attacking you or discrediting you i simply saying it was hard to do it in one swing. No need to be defensive or condescending. Nor did i fail to ready your post buddy.

And i wasn't trying to imply that you said it would be easy

You see that's where you keep jumping to conclusions and causing confusion. I never referred to dismemberment as toward the head as I already mentioned in which you again failed to read. That was your own assumption. Anyways, I'm not sure where you got the condescending part from, but maybe you should look up the meaning for that word. Don't get upset because you keep misunderstanding my initial post even after I explained it to you clearly. I'm also just correcting what you intended to distort in my post.

What's with you people why must you cut your opponent limb from limb and see their organs. Isn't a stab through the back good enough? This talk isn't sick it's sadistic
would you do this to a person in real life? cut them piece by piece? you'd do a quick clean kill/ i would

There's a difference between violent mutilation and dismemberment. Dismemberment happens dude. Having an arm fall off is no less "sadistic" than stabbing somebody in the back. I hope you feel good about your self, getting those quick clean kills! Don't even let the enemy fight back or anything!

I don't want *violence* in elder scrolls, but just basic dismemberment for "teh immershunz" would be nice. Adds a spice of realism to melee combat.

No i'm not drawing conclusion's "I" was referring to dismemberment as to the head i all ready told you i was giving an direct example and admitted you didn't say that that. Lol I was not trying to distort your post i was simply adding that it usually took multiple slashes, to any body part for that matter. (except fingers/weaker bones)

if I'm killing people in the video game I want to see realistic effects on them, heads flying, guts rolling, hands flying off, blood spraying everywhere..... cause killing people with out that just looks .... sick *shiver*

actually people that want to kill people and see no blood or violence what so ever freak me out

a LOT

I'm not upset that it isn't in. I'm actually somewhat happy about it. It means less dumb questions from my roommates.

No offense, but if your "roomates" are asking "dumb questions" about dismemberments, I seriously doubt that A)You are old enough to be playing or B )You're roomates are old enough to be watching what you play. Playing something like Gears of War or a Bloody Mess playthrough of Fallout, that's different.

ya ok if they were weak enough but only on non-armored enemies. (A finisher though could make it more satisfying)

I don't want to sound like a baby but i don't want a gib fest. A light touch of decapitation wouldn't be bad

I agree it shouldn't be over the top. I don't want it over the top. With that said, FE3 was over the top and I enjoyed it thoroughly. It never got old to me. But I would have preferred it to be toned down some. I think in ES it would be quite satisfying to take off an entire arm, hand, head, etc., depending on the weapon, the damage done to the area before you hit it, and how skilled you are using that weapon.

For example, imagine fighting a guy and it's a very difficult battle. He's blocking a lot of your strikes and has a formidable offense. You've been able to execute some strikes on his shoulder area. You can see his armor on his shoulder taking some damage, maybe the hinge looks broken or falling apart. You keep reducing his health. Now comes the final blow. Scenario A) You go for his head. You strike, he dies. No beheading.
Scenario B) You go for his shoulder you've been working on. You dismember his entire arm.
