Question RE: Boon

Post » Tue Jul 26, 2011 12:56 am

I just let Benny go from the Tops, and he has since sprinted his checkered suited ass to the Legion's fort. I have Boone and ED-E with me but recently I just sent Boone home because with Boon I have a few concerns.

1. I was concerned that when the Legion stranger offers me the Mark and to join Caesar, Boone was just going to flambé this guy's fair white skin before the messenger could even say a word as soon as he saw Legion.

Boone and I were supposed to go Legionnaire hunting together since joining forces, at least, that's what i told him But owing to my selfish nature, Boone and I haven't even taken a shot yet at a follower of Caesar. we've been doing other stuff. So he may be getting a bit antsy right now is all I'm saying,

Anyway...back to number 2.....
2. I'm also concerned that should I take the Legion's Mark seriously and visit Caesar, will Boone absolutely lose his mind when get on that raft and he see his first legionnaire? I can ask him to be passive but these pricks enslaved the woman he loved for goodness sakes. How passive could he be?

So my (very lengthy) question to you is, can I bring Boone along to the fort where i get the chip and move one step closer to a more independent New Vagas, or will he just become all irrational and screw the whole thing up for me by going on a Legion killing rampage?

You can bring him there, but there is a bug that if you have him wait outside Fortification Hill, everyone but Caesar in Caesar's tent will become hostile.

Honestly I feel that you should just have him wait outside Cottenwood Cove, I haven't really brought any followers there, but I do assume Boone will attempt an attack.

Just having Boone as a companion will make them hostile, waiting or not, you have to fire him to get in without a fight.

Boone is set to fire Legionaries on site. If you have him as a companion I recommend either telling him to wait somewhere far away or to "fire" him and tell him to go to the Lucky 38.
If you bring him anywhere near a Legionary he will shoot first (usually to deadly effect) and ask questions later.

Weird, I though it was a shot on sight thing with followers. Hmm...

Are you sure? Last I remember the legion only attacked after being fired upon from Boone which then proceeded to attack me because of the drop in reputation.
