Higgs Village

Post » Mon Jul 25, 2011 10:49 pm

I've been reading comments here and there about The Sink being a great base except for the fact that you can't send your companions there. I disagree, and I'd argue that The Sink's a little too small for it to house your companions like the Lucky 38. As it stands, I always seem to have Muggy underfoot (except when I'm actually looking for him), and another 8 characters roaming about The Sink would just be a little too much, IMO.

On the other hand, I was just poking around Higgs Village again when it occurred to me that Higgs could have made for a great "Companion Village." Six houses for the six humanoid companions. A doghouse (Gabe's) for Rex, and I suppose ED-E could just scoot around the fountain area. I think that would be nice. Go see them when you want, pick up whoever you want, do some MT hunting, dismiss them back to the village, then head home (assuming The Sink is your home).

The Sink is cool, but a little too bachelor pad for me to make it a permanent home. And the lack of a bathroom really irks my role-playing ocd. i suppose one of the planter boxes is a compost pile.

i fell in love with House #101 in Higgs Village the moment i stepped inside and walked around. That's where i plan to settle. It's two load screens to get there, but i think the atmosphere is worth it.

Then again i never have used the Lucky 38 either. Ostentatious + 3 load screens = nah dood, i'm good with Novac.

It's three load screens to get into any of the Higgs Village houses also. (from the Mojave anyways)

True. But i don't really want to go back to the Mohave. Maybe for occasional supply runs.

Big MT is probably my character's home while waiting for DLCs now, as long as it ends well. i have no desire to end the main game in NV...

It would be nice if they did make it a home base but sadly They are to lazy to get up and make it so your companions can go to dlcs.

If Muggy's ranting wears on you, just lock him in the room with your heart and spinal cord. That's what i did.

True, but it's also three load screen to enter the Lucky 38 suite from somewhere in the Mojave.

Four load screens, one to arrive at the strip gate, the second to actually enter the strip, the third to enter the Lucky 38 and the 4th to use the Elevator. For Higgs its one to enter OWB, the second to fast travel to the village, the third to enter, and the forth if you need to access any partular house.

Yeah thats true, it's actually 4 for both.
Even though the full L38 is actually safe so you can use the room with all the lockers and the open safes if you wish, saves you a load screen I guess.
(I never used it though)
