Customization?

Post » Tue Jul 26, 2011 2:21 am

I was wondering if the devs for Skyrim were planning on allowing the user to customize their world and homes?
These 2 videos show how 1 person was able to customize their home in an amazing way with... you're not going to believe this... the PAINTBRUSH glitch!

Believe me... these videos are worth watching:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_567757&v=Waur1GYxldg&feature=iv#t=2h15m - House Tour
http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_338402&v=eB3xzxXMf4U&feature=iv - Hanging weapons/making bookshelves tutorial.

The maker of the video was able to create their own bookshelves out of a folded cloth hanging on top of a paint brush... Just imagine! All of that customization was just from a glitch! Not intentional at all!
I was wondering if it would be possible to have the customization of these videos in Skyrim? I think that it would be great and it would be amazing for screen-shots or videos of the game!

What's your opinion?

It would be nice if your houses 'look' changed with character choices, like, if you are a master alchemist you get an alchemists area or if you are a master blacksmith you get an anvil.

I don't think anything official has been said on customization though.

It will likely just be the old furniture kits, to be honest. The havoc system has very likely improved though, and I expect that placing items to decorate with will be much easier.

I never thought about using paintbrushes like that... I just used the coffin in the crypt of the manor to put my treasures...... darn it.

You're welcome! I just hope we will have a similar feature in skyrim!

It would be nice if you don't have to put up weapons with paint brushes and chests can hold only a certain amount of items. Also I like the idea of themes e.g. blacksmith gets a forge and an anvil, an assassins house has blood and bodies splattered all over the place. You know like FO3.

If light magic spells can stick to walls, maybe other things can as well.

That's nothing. Some people even took the time to build functional staircases to the top of White Gold tower in the Imperial City with the Paintbrush glitch from what I remember. It's amazing what lengths people will go to, to exploit a glitch in the games programming.
