Gaush im tired :(

Post » Tue Jul 26, 2011 2:26 am

weve all played oblivion and we all realized that fatigue had no affect on the character, i finished the game multiple times and whenever i look at the fatigue bar while its empty, im like "what in ****s name is the use for fatigue, ITS FREAKIN POINTLESS!!!!"

wouldnt it be nice in skyrim if fatigue actually did something, like decrease your running/walking speed, or having to relax your arm a little because your muscles are too strained
maybe youd have to sit on the ground and take a breather, while taking breathers you cant use dragon shouts "cause you can barely even breath to shout"
cmon! no one can be that hardcoe to be running and jumping for hours without even a single drop of sweat or tiredness, dont you all agree?
Edit: Any ideas anyone? of how fatigue would affect you in skyrim?

There going to have to really stress how important it is.

Thanks to Oblivion, I doubt a lot of players will even bother raising their fatigue.

i see your point about running and walking. i actually hated fatigue and what it did. i sure noticed the effects of it, it was much easier to get knocked down and harder to block with low fatigue.

edit: but to be honest running around in oblivion and having to stop and breathe every now and then seems like it would svck

In Morrowind stamina/fatigue being low adversely affected your chance to hit or successfully cast.. It affected attack power in Oblivion, but never enough that I particularly noticed it.

I hated fatigue in Morrowind, but liked the kind of low key effect it had in Oblivion. It was just subtle enough to work.

Fatigue will probably affect the amount of time you can sprint for.

im glad you guys agree with me, I really do hope bethesda improved their fatigue system
btw do you guys have any more ideas on how it could affect you?
like maybe if you dont rest your arm you could get nerve damage and not be able to wield anything in your hand for a day? wouldn't that be hard but still freakin amazin?

There was this one mod I remember downloading. It added realistic fatigue that would drain when you ran/swam, swung a weapon, or used a spell. If your green bar was about halfway full, your screen began to blur. When your fatigue bar was completely drained, your whole screen was pretty much double vision and blur. It got kind of annoying, but it was pretty fun to use a very powerful spell which wiped my fatigue bar completely and made walking around tough :P. Taught me to only use the big spells if I know I'm going to kill the foe.

nice mod :P
maybe when the fatigue bar is empty, you start seeing spots and maybe have a slight possibility of getting a sun stroke :P if its in the morning ofcourse :P

Though I can see a lot of people finding it annoying. I guess it's just certain levels of tolerance. I'm thinking if the fatigue bar is down your running should slow down as well as having your melee damage decreased depending on the severity of your fatigue.

The problem with Fatigue in Oblivion and Morrowind was how it changed way too damn fast. I ended up with fatigue in excess of 750, and it still drained way too fast when I was playing.

Remember when you hit an enemy for ages, not doing any damage?
Yes, that's what fatigue does.

Also enemies with drain/damage/adsorb fatigue are extremely annoying.

Fatique is definitely one of those attributes thats tricky. Health and mana we all understand as something that limits us. However Stamina can be tricky, particlulary when the attribute shares roles in both combat and movement. Naturally there is overlap (sprinting at an enemy) but other times, when traveling a large distance, having a limit that interrupts your walking can be annoying. I bet in this game it'd be pretty important however, since its only 1 of the 3 governing attributes. How annoyed you are is really only the moments when it simply seems to be limiting your game, rather than making it challenging. You dont need your epic dovakhin to get tired walking, but he should eventually get tired from swinging and blocking. The problem with MO was that mundane things you didnt care about effected the stam bar when they shouldnt. maybe they solved this with skyrim. Who knows.

Fatigue is vaaaagueeee!! if you did less damage you could always use a spell, *dont forget your weapons enchantments which arent affected by fatigure*
they should add more disadvantages to losing fatigue, while making its drain at a lower rate, walking/ running should tire any creature, and maybe the less you sleep the less your maximum fatigue becomes until you sleep again, all these give taste to the game, rather than in oblivion whenever i looked at the green bar all im thinking is "thats a waste of pixels ^^"
plus what i stated before :)
