Infinite Dragons..

You're forgetting that there's friendly dragons too,so you can't just elimanate them all after the main quest, that would be stupid after all the amount of work bethesda put into incorporating dragons.

After reading these three pages, I don;t really see the big deal with infinite dragons.

Infinite or finite, I'm sure that, whatever Bethesda had chosen to do, some people are bound to dislike it. Luckily, only a small portion of these people regard themselves as important enough to open up topics acting all indignified about it.

Besides, I'm pretty sure someone will make a mod to limit dragon numbers.

However, you could just avoid OB gates, save for the ones involved in the main quest, when in Skyrim, dragons can just attack you out of nowhere.
This could be a problem when you want to make a non-warrior playthrough and intend NOT to do the MQ.

Avoiding Oblivion gates was deceptively difficult. You try to wlk around one, and you practically run into another. Especially if you were up in the mountains, it was very difficult to get around them and not go off course.

Dragons will be far less frequent, you can avoid them without running into others, you can run from them, other people (guards) can attack them for a distraction, and they can fly away on their own if they don't want to bother with you.

I am hoping for a Broken Steel type add-on that takes place after the main quest that explores the post-game dragon issue in the future. I mean, I am sure that after being beaten, some dragons will still hold grudges, while other dragons may want to be left alone, and others still may end up wanting to at least try integrating into society as they have no place to really go. It could give some interesting perspectives and quests.

In Oblivion, I kept searching for Xivilai, Daedra spiders, and Daedroths. why? because they were a fun fight. If the Oblivion invasion had spawned infinite daedra in Cyrodill, I would have loved it. It's going through the gates that I hated.

Knowing that dragons are infinite, was the best thing I heard about Skyrim

Yep, in some places, it was an OB gate-fest, so after a few characters, I just ceased to activate the main quest...

As for dragons, I remember Todd Howard saying he once ended up chases by three of them, which caused them to decrease their appearance. So, maybe you're right (I hope so).

Why the hell would you object to having unlimited dragons? And this is "infinite" only in the sense that the encounters never run out -- it doesn't have an effect on any individual battle with a dragon, for crying out loud.

Do you really want the best part of the game just to run out when it could so easily be carried on? :nono:

Oh, and by the way. There are also infinite wolves, ice wraiths, trolls, and basically all other forms of life. Would you rather Bethesda made their numbers limited, so you could reduce Skyrim to a lifeless uninhabited tundra?

In some of my Oblivion playthroughs that has been my one purpose.

No need for the add-on you are hoping for - it's already in the vanilla game.

Todd already confirmed you can keep playing after the main quest.

I think that they probably make the connection to the repetitive nature of Oblivion Gates in ES:IV, so I wouldn't be concerned with too many dragons. In fact, I'm guessing that they are far less likely to interrupt the game-play than Bethesda have been showing off. They are certainly central to the game, but I doubt that we'll be running into four in an hour play-through like Todd seems to have at E3... I'm sure its a little less common to come across a dragon.

One thought is that it was said in an interview that not all dragons are out to eat us with no further details offered.

It's possible that the dragons aren't 'bad' in and of themselves, but they are controlled by the games main bad dude. Once he is finished perhaps the dragons and people find a way to coexist. If that is the case I would imagine dragons would still be seen from time to time, but they wouldn't attack unless we decided we wanted another dragon fight and attacked them first.

You clearly did not read what I said. I know we can continue playing afterwards, that is not what I was talking about. I was talking about an expansion on post main quest events.

Probably. Or maybe the way it's handled is that everytime a dragon spawns, there's an X% chance that it's a non-hostile one. I want to just walk besides a dragon, just to be badass

Not likely, dragons are not animals remember. It would be more like coping with war refugees/criminals.

Dragons shall be a challenge, especially if Necromancers can turn people into dragons :mage:
