Dragon shouts in the depths?

Post » Tue Jul 26, 2011 1:43 am

would be even remotely logical if one could do dragon shouts under water?
it would be a huge buzzkilelr if you could cause for one you cant speak under water, not even argonians can, they can only breath under water :)
and while were talking about dragons and water, do you think dragons can swim? i find it unlikely cause their hands(claws idk what you want to call them) are too small to be able to swim adding that they are too heavy to swim
whats everyone's take?

why not? If one has to properly vocalize the words into the air in order for the shout to work then no, but if it's more along the lines of 'it's the thought that counts' then why not? It is possible to speak under water, you just can't take a breath and the words are largely unintelligible to anyone trying to listen, but it's the vocal cords and tongue that form the sound and this isn't affected by the body being under water.

well depending on what your stating its eather the vocal cords, or the sound itself, and if your in the water the sounds are jumbled up, but its in the cords then youd be right, like the fishtick man said, will have to wait and see

but it wouldnt be logical if you could, lacking the air (excluding argonians) and sound, if its not heard then its practically not there, dont you think??

Not really, that is where the whole it's nirn and not earth argument comes into play. You also could make the argument Bethesda never wanted you to play under water, and thus cared not if you could shout under water.
