FOV command-line advice plz

Post » Wed Jul 27, 2011 8:25 am

I used RJay's Config tool to change my FOV with. This because I don't know the command-lines to change it ingame or in the autoexe.cfg. The view wás set at 80 and I've changed it to 110 now, which I think is a lot better.

Problem is that the switch from walking to sprinting is pretty big. When I start to sprint there's a huge Zoomout effect that is a bit too much. Can someone help me with some nice balanced FOV-settings with a wide view plz?
And instructions how to go back to previous settings? ;)

This is how FOV is set now in the ingame cfg window or how do you call;

cl_fov = 80

pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov = 80

r_DrawNearFov = 80

The power movement should be capped at 80

I put all my commands into:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis 2\autoexec.cfg

C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis 2\system.cfg

C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis 2\multiplayer.cfg

Open the files with a normal text editor like Note Pad (I suggest Notepad++)

All you have to do is copy and paste into the files.

You mean this is the max? Why is this? Isn't there a way to get wider view than 80 since it's pretty narrow imo? Tried to change cl_fov value in command overlay but it won't :(

C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis 2\autoexec.cfg

C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis 2\system.cfg

I'll try this for sure. Do you put the set of commands in all three .cfg's?

Well, even a 70 FOV cuts into some objects and makes them transparent....
