How do you recharge power armor?

Post » Wed Jul 27, 2011 6:00 am

I've done some searching and I can't find the answer to my rather specific question. How does one recharge power armor? The computer voice saying 'Capacitor charge critical. System shutdown imminent' every minute or so is getting very annoying. Is it sunlight? A specific type of energy ammor? A fission battery?

TIA. :)
*goes back in game to try sunlight and fission batteries...*

Are you playing with a mod? Because I never heard of an armor (in vanilla) that needs recharging.

None of the armor needs recharging. Even the early models had a 60,000 watt power-pack built in.

This sounds like a mod, and you would need to read the instructions.

If not a mod say which armor and where you got it.

He's playing the powered power armor mod. Buy the recharge station from Torres in Hidden Valley BOS bunker. Set up the recharge station, activate it and then recharge.
If your power armor is T-51b or some kind of Enclave Power Armor, you can replace the battery with a permanent MF reactor that needs no recharging, the drawback is you won't be able to use some upgrades to your power armor if you use the MF reactor as opposed to the rechargeable system.

It's an absolutely amazing mod, the only drawback and it's a big one, is that it doesn't let you shoot in third person. It was designed to compliment Project Nevada. Oh and it might cause some crashing.

Thank you! Yes it must be that mod - I've not used power armor without the mod so I had no clue the recharging was specific to the mod. I greatly appreciate the help.

And, FWIW, its 'she'. ;)

It says in wiki ( lol for what that is worth ) That the t45d burned up small energy cells at and alarming rate. It says the T51b was the introduction of the MF deal.

I just thought that the t45d had been converted to the MF thing pre war once it was developed for the t51b.

Its hard to cite the wiki anymore when it relates to the backstory and history. :(
Its still great for item stats and NPC/item descriptions.
