Fast Travel Crash

It's hard to really know where certain parallels run for me when it comes to SOME of my issues, but that's only because I take a trepidatious approach to many things, and since information has changed, confusion arises.

I recently bought a new video card, Nvidia GTX 560t I believe is it's name. It has done me very well, and I play New Vegas among other games at max settings now.

However, A flaw has remained that even this card cannot fix, and this card has fix much.

It used to be, that certain settings I needed to drop for performance would do things so bizarre is cause tumbleweeds to become 100% immobile, and in fact sound metallic to the touch. Can make things difficult if one spawned inbetween some pieces of physics near the door to the goodsprings inn or whatever its called.

That and others have been fixed, leaving me with just one issue. Usually 45 minutes+ into playing, there will be points I cannot find a SINGLE common denominator to, where if I attempt to access fast travel the game will go through the motions, attempt to load the new area, and crash. Sometimes so badly that I have to try to get into my task manager, because the keyboard and mouse remain locked into the game's controls unless I do such.

It's not the WORST issue, it happens maybe 1-3 times in a 4-6 hour playing session as long as I don't get too itchy to fast travel, but it's still pretty frustrating.

Has anyone else dealt with a fast travel only crash and maybe fixed it?

Did it happen in OWB and right after leaving the Big MT? If so, after entering an area or after a recent fast travel, walk a certain distance from the point you entered. The distance may vary as I did not check on actual distances. It may also be related to time. Anyway, walking a certain distance (or waiting a certain time) seems to overcome this most annoying bug. As far as I can tell, outside Big MT it only happens with and immediate fast travel after reentering the Mojave.

This is of course no excuse for the bug being there.
