Leyawiin gate closure is not recognised by the count

Post » Wed Jul 27, 2011 11:32 am

I closed the Leyawiin Oblivion gate as part of the Allies for Bruma quest, yet there was no journal update when the gate closed. The count and the people make no reference to the gates closure, making Allies for Bruma impossible to finish.

The cause is probably some mod conflict somewhere and I am not wondering about how to fix it, just get around it with console commands. I have tried the SetStage MQ11 44 which gives me the journal update but the count still will not update his dialogue.

Any ideas?

You don't HAVE to complete allies for Bruma, so you could just skip leyawiin. The troops might head to Bruma anyway, have you checked to see if there/he is already there?

I am aware I could skip Leyawiin. As for the troops they are not at Bruma. Leyawiin's count (and people for that matter) still think the gate is open and a threat to the town. So no troops to Bruma.

I figured if I give myself the quest update with the console it would work, but the dialogue remains as if the gate were still open.

From looking through the Construction Set it seems to be a problem with the "GetScriptVariable MQ11, LeyawiinGate. Closed == 1.00".

Is there a way to force this to activate using the console in game?

You don't go into much detail about the Gate closing, so I'll ask...

Did you close the correct Gate? Most major cities tend to have two or more Gates near them during the Crisis. During my first play-through I mistakenly picked the wrong one at least once. Might that be the case for you?
