Question about Heartless

Post » Thu Jul 28, 2011 10:56 am

What method does Heartless use to provide poison immunity? Resistance is capped at 85%, so adding 100% poison resistance doesn't do it. I don't have Old World Blues, but if someone who does could look in the GECK and see how the perk works, I'd appreciate it. The current method I'm using for poison immunity is to remove all known poisons by script (basically what Antidote does), but this isn't satisfactory because the poison still technically applies for a single frame before removed, plus it won't work against poisons added by other mods. I'd like to know what method this uses so I can just copy it and have true immunity.

Heartless doesn't protect against the toxic clouds in Dead Money from what I've been told. Cazador and Giant Radscorpion poison can be dangerous too. Either way, it doesn't matter if poison isn't much of a problem. I want my energy shields to make the user immune to poison as long as you have shield points left in them.

Cazador and radscorpion poison along with any of the weapon poisons including HH poisons don't effect you I can confirm that on 360 done it on four characters.

The Heartless perk uses poison immunity actor effect, that in turn uses Increased poison resistance base effect at 100 magnitude. Both effects already in the game without the need of the DLC.

But poison resistance 100 magnitude doesn't make you immune to poison. Poison resistance caps at 85 just like damage and rad resistances do. In testing, having 100 resistance doesn't make me immune.

EDIT: Nevermind. I had been using my own poison immunity effect and it wasn't working. Using the one already in the game works fine. I must have screwed up some tiny thing in mine.
