After playing the X-8 data retrieval quest, I completed all of the objectives and it doesn't complete the quest. It just keep telling me to do things I've already completed.

Could you be more specific? Are you sure that it is not instead telling you to take the Advanced test with the same instructions?

No, I've completed the basic test, advanced test, upgraded the sonic emitter, retrieved the kennel key, released the unusual specimens, but the quest doesn't finish.
