DLC Idea: Pre-War

Post » Thu Jul 28, 2011 7:47 pm

I would find it very interesting to play a role during the final battles of Resouce War. Newer fans could get a sense of history, and hardcoe fans can relate to the things they already knew.

I'd rather have a CGI movie made by Bethesda for flavor material or some sort of short cutscene/flashback thing.

But yeah, for DLC's Operation Anchorage is good enough, I love learning about pre-war times. But having it all spelled out to you in a DLC and being actually able to live it would be too much I think.

I'd spoil the fun of discovery and wondering "Gee I wonder what this looked like 200 years ago?"

Anchorage was in a really good setting. Going from the harsh and hot Wastes to the fresh and pristine Alaska was a welcome change! Maybe the DLC would be something along the lines of going into more detail about the Great War? I don't know.

No. I want to explore more of America, after the Great War.

Resources Wars were more of a European thing. America was busy fighting the Sino-American War. America was winning that war and had invaded China itself. We already had a DLC that shows the war between those nations, Operation Anchorage.

To me Fallout isn't about the past, it is about the future. Pre-war is "the before time" and isn't the focus of Fallout, but I do see the appeal of it.

"The end of the world occurred pretty much as we had predicted; too many humans and not enough space or resources to go around. The details are trivial and pointless, the reasons as always, purely human ones." That is good enough for me.

Any DLC that has us going "back in time" can't be fully trusted anyways. It would have to be like Operation Anchorage were it is only a simulation.

And too many simulations becomes redundant. An idea can only be used so many times.

It would have to be its own game. Bethesda would have to see if Tim Cain and the people that made up fallout would answer some questions about what was in their heads.

Some of the questions should never be answered (at least not like that), but I am all for a game about the resouse wars between Europe and Saudi Arabia. I had heard J.E. Sawyer wants to do something like this. IDK if its true......

I would buy it, but it should be an in between game thing, and I wouldn t expect it to be an rpg at all, but a tactical shooter with a few moral choices and more talking.
