Lonesome Road should be free.

Post » Sun Jul 31, 2011 6:14 am

I put up with a LOT of crashes and BS in Fallout 3. A LOT. I powered through it and decided that New Vegas should be better, they know all the issues, they can fix them.

New Vegas IS more stable, but it still crashes. All I need to do is restart and it works fine. No major issues, the DLC on the other hand? I cant even get those to start. Thats a LOT of wasted money, and now it looks like i need to junk a 20 hour save and redo the boring ass beginning.

I put up with too much BS from gamesas. We as consumers have put up with too much BS. I think the least they could do, after two buggy as [censored] games that crash more then charlie sheen on a coke binge the LEAST they could do, is release Lonesome Road FREE or at a SEVERELY discounted price. (IE 50 cents.)

Enough is enough man, I've wasted enough time pissing with files and disabling autosave and doing work arounds because you guys were too lazy to make a functioning product.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! -gasps for breath- BWAHAHAHAHA!

Don't like it, don't buy it. They're not forcing you to play. You have every right to refuse to purchase their products.

It's not a question of boycotting, it's a question of a show of good faith to the people who gave them money and dealt with their broken game.

Moondog, I pre-ordered the collectors edition, and am playing with my platinum chip as we type, I also legally purchased all three DLC's. I dont think asking that a DLC should be free or reduced in price as a show of good faith equates to me demanding a rickshaw pulled by the devs to be filled with gold. I also purchased a non-collecotrs edition PS3 Fallout 3, and then purchased all the DLC for it.

You know that's not how things work. If a little-rude the other gentleman was entirely correct; you chose to keep the game after experiencing problems with it.

They owe you absolutely nothing. They don't even owe us free patches, but they still do that for us.

Cant return a game bought on steam, and I dont care too. I preorderd it and the vanilla game is tolerable, it's the DLC's and grinding through a broken buggy Fallout 3 and DLC. (Which actually appears to be working more stable on my newest run through). That have caused me to rage and curse. That qualifies as mental anguish, technically.

All I want is a 10 dollar DLC to be reduced or free. Make it 7 or 5?

So the people at Obsidian should pay for Bethesda's previous mistakes on Fallout 3? It's entirely irrelevant anyway given that I doubt Microsoft would allow it, Bill Gates wants his cut.

your buggy experience with Fallout 3 has a lot to do with this game. so much, in fact, that Microsoft and Bethesda have worked out a deal to distribute the DLC for a reduced price, exclusively to you, along with a 2-year subscribtion to xbox live gold. the ferrari is en route.

K, pretty sure your not old enough to be playing this game, does your mommy know your playing?

It's not a question of boycotting, it's a question of a show of good faith to the people who gave them money and dealt with their broken game.

Haha, I'm old enough to, you know, pass first grade grammar class...try again, kiddo. And there's a difference between "good faith" and "asking them to release a product they have to PAY THEIR EMPLOYEES to work on for next to nothing".

Again. If you don't like it? DON'T BUY IT. No one's holding a gun to your head forcing you to play it. And guess what? I paid money for it. And I'm not making a ridiculous infantile demand to them.

EDIT: You want to discuss it, try discussing in a reasonable manner. No trolling. No flaming. Otherwise, you simply prove my point.

Well, they don't do that entirely for us. It's for them too. It's good business. If you release a game riddled with problems and then don't patch it (or patch it, but charge for it) you're setting yourself up to lose numerous players who would otherwise stick with your products.

True, but, legally, they don't owe us a single damn thing after release.

@$!#! Very well, if I must...

You're right of course, but I just wanted to make sure we're all clear that they don't develop free patches solely out of the kindness of their hearts. Every customer represents a possible repeat customer.

To the OP, if you want to protest, then don't buy the next DLC. Nothing resonates louder with gaming companies (or any company that sells a product for public consumption) than the sound of wallets slamming shut.

I don't think I have ever played a game that didn't have a bug or crash issue small or large, or any game that didn't need a patch (I PC game) . I also have bought games that needed patched but never got one, NV has been fixed to a fairly good state since release, and I have played the DLC's with no real issues, so maybe the problem is on your end  mods, drivers, hardware ?

Bethesda does not have to give me a DLC for free, it's just not called for  if you or anyone has such severer problem with Bethesda or Obsidian products....just don't buy them ever again.
