Connery's BSA

Post » Mon Aug 01, 2011 2:31 pm

I recently downloaded Connery's BSA. There were minimal instructions on its installation. Because .ini files seem not to like spaces (?) I renamed the .bsa and added it to the archive. But I'm not seeing its effects. What should I do?

What system are you running on? Vista and Win 7 can give you issues when trying to edit your .ini. It can sometimes not really change anything even though you think you did. Make sure you have UAC turned off or are running as admin. That might fix your issue.

There's spaces in my Connary's bsa in the .ini file and it works fine, just to let you know.

Here's how I worded mine.

Archive 2=Connary's BSA v2.bsa

If you have other texture replacers for the ones Connary's replaces they could be overriding it if they're dated newer than the ones in Connary's BSA.

edit: spelled Connary

I'm running XP as an admin. Does it have to be archive 2? I've got it on, like, 6 or something. I will try it with the spaces and original name. I don't know how load order works but since it is a BSA does the dating matter? Should I do a BSAreg thingy?

No, it depends on the archive that becomes right before it.

If the archive that becomes before it is 5, then Connary's would be 6.

How many Connary's BSA archives do you have?

Yes you should use http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=getit&lid=376 (BSAReg is included) to register bsa files into Morrowind.ini before they can be used in-game.

You only have to use BSAReg if you don't know how to type the entry into the Morrowind.ini yourself, that's all BSAReg does. The name in the .ini must match exactly the BSA name.

Kalian has the right idea. If you just want to see the textures from that one BSA and you don't want them over-written, the best thing to do is extract it. The files in the folders will over-ride all BSA's.
