Bash Tags

Post » Tue Aug 25, 2009 11:05 pm

Hello @ll,

is there any new "Bash Tags for Everyone"-Thread?

The old one was closed.

My question is just more of general kind.

Here the two pics:

I have checked all of them, but I guess that may not be ok.

How do I find those, whcih should be checked, and those who shouldnt?
Any suggestions for my example shown in the pics are very welcome.
Thx.

This same question came up quite recently. The answer seems to be, for the average mod user, tick everything. By that I mean tick every box in the left hand list if it has a list of mods tagged in the right hand list, and tick every one of the mods in the right had list. After all the bash tags have been added for a reason, it would seem perverse to then deliberately choose not to apply the tags. At least that's my reasoning. Who am I to argue with the mod makers and the collective genius of the BOSS project.

I pick and choose carefully however in the tweaks sections lower down the left hand list.

You would ultimately want to consult the readmes of each mod to see if they have any bash tag recommendations.

Also, don't apply tags frivolously. The tag you places on xulImperialIsle.esp does NOT need to be there. One would suspect you did that to solve water issues. Solve those by removing C.Water from the UOP.

Also, an ESP with tags on it isn't necessarily correct. Case in point, the UOP. Blundered big time on C.Water.

BOSS may be more accurate, but only if accurate information has been provided to the project.

Yes, thats true. But I just dicovered recently, in case a mod got a suggestion for the Bash Tag "Merge" in the description field, you cant select it in the lower right bash tags config, but you are able to use "Mark Mergeable" on the mod itself.
But now the problem, as soon as I mark the mod mergable, the suggestion for the "merge" tag in the description field above disappears!

For example: "Mart's Monster Mod - No Bone Loot.esp"

I had the suggestion for Bash tags in the description field {{BASH:Delev,Merge, Relev}}
As you cant select merge anymore, I marked the .esp itself as mergable, but the suggestions in the description now are {{BASH:Delev, Relev}}, the "merge" has disappeared.
Now I do not remember, what mods I did mark as mergable anymore? Is there any reset on this, so the original suggestion for bash tags show up in the description fields again?
( I think only those should explicitly marked in the bach patch, provided with the merge tag in the description field, but its no use anymore, if this tag is deleted as soon as I mark it mergable,
I cant distinguish anymore between those who had this tag and those who didnt)

BOSS related tags are no problem, because I am able to read them every time in the .txt-file just after I used BOSS.

PS:
Another example ( but this might be unique)

BOSS suggests:
Mart's Monster Mod for OOO.esp
. Bashed Patch tag suggestion: {{BASH:Invent,Factions,Relations}}

Description Field suggests:
{{BASH: Relev,Delev}} MMM for OOO plugin Version: 0.9.9MB3

PS 2:

In general, if the mods are tagged, they will show up in the bashed patch under the tagged section.
But is it necessary to check them in the bached patch, or just leave them like in this pic:

For everyone interested, after reading the readme & BOSS output & the description field carefully, this it what i have checked in batched patch (regarding merge patches & import cells):
