More Dramatic Skies

Post » Mon Aug 01, 2011 5:38 pm

Is anyone as bothered as I am about the skies in the game? I was born in Northeast Russia and then moved to the Pacific Northwest, and the calm skies of Skyrim look like Northern Californian weather. Using some tools, I hope to retexture the skies when the game is released >.<

These skies look more like the stuff I've seen at home. I'm assuming that Skyrim will use sky .dds like their past games... and I hope there are different sky textures rather than just one universal one that the game puts through filters @_@

Any suggestions (other than "NUUUUUU THEZ SKYZZZ LOOKZ GREATZ ALREADIZ!!!!")? Oh yeah, and this should hopefully have no performance impact.

Your versions do look a lot nicer, but I don't really care about graphics.

Also, maybe we should get to know each other a little better before we just jump the gun and get married, don't you think?

those looked terrible I like the originals way better, basically your thinnest cloud is the darkest raincloud in the world, there are too many extremes and no middle ground

No, I did not, that is why I'm going out to the store right this instant and buying the game right now! And that is also why I put "When the game is released..."

those looked terrible I like the originals way better, basically your thinnest cloud is the darkest raincloud in the world, there are too many extremes and no middle ground

Move to British Columbia :P The "Dramatic" in "More Dramatic Skies" means something :P

But yeah I agree, I should add some variance.

I didn't use filters, but just the contrast, saturation, and hue tools.

Your versions just look like they are darkening the sky, not very impressive. I don't think dramatic skies need to be dark especially if the weather is clear.

Well I'm just a small town girl/boy/octopus living in a lonely world.

I must say that I'm more fond of vampire squids... I'm sorry, it won't work out. Vampires of any kind are just too much of a turn on.

It's not you it's me.

This is more like, darker skies rather than dramatic.

It seems like you're just removing the fog in some pictures though...
