Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums and this ismy very first post. Some advice would be awesome. Now, I've had TES IV ever since the game was fairly new and just played it off and on, even though I really love the game. Recently, I rolled a thief Kahjit and have started to really seriously play for the first time. I thought I was pretty well along. I mean I completely looted 2 castles, found the Unicorn, and making good progress through the thieves guild quest. I'm at level 9, and I have my agility pretty high at 75, I'll post the other stats later if need be.

Now, here's my problem. the other night I was chatting with my friends on the phone. We talked about our characters for awhile and one of my friends said that I need to restart my character if I'm going to play the "right way", ((as if there ever was an exact right way to play Oblivion -.-)). Now I never knew that the world leveled with you, which explains why I usually had so much trouble and why enemies seemed stronger. Now my friend said I should start over because I wasn't getting the +5 bonus each and every single time I leveled and said I would have severe trouble playing the game later on since I wasn't really powerful. Now remember he said the "right way" which involves getting that +5 each and every single level up. At first he was pretty convincing and I considered restarting until I found this forum and saw how some people place their own level caps, some players have characters that never set foot in cities or do quests, etc for rp sake and how some people here have characters are really low stats and are completely satisfied. So now, keeping in mind what my friend said, and seeing how some people here play the game, I'm really not sure what to do with my character now. I play the 360 version btw.
