My 8800 GTS is apparently fried, at least that's what I think it means when you get freaky red lines on the monitor and it will only boot in safe mode.

What would you recommend as a replacement? I'm definitely not looking for the latest 2 gig ram super killah video card that costs $500. But I'm looking for an upgrade for sure. Maybe 1 gig ram with a reputation for keeping cool?
