Will my PC run Morrowind?

Post » Tue Aug 02, 2011 9:41 pm

Now, with all the talk about how amazingly awesome Morrowind is, I want to buy it on Steam. According to the requirements thingy, it says I need Windows ME/98/XP/2000. I'm running my computer on Vista, will it still work?

Oh, and before anyone says it, Vista is a steaming pile of Deadra crap.

It works on Vista and Windows7. Even with the Steam version.

BUT, make sure you http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/781497-vistawindows-7-problems/page__view__findpost__p__11352753 to avoid many problems.

If you want to use mods with Steam, you need to redate the BSA files. The Morrowind Code Patch will do this for you.

Info on patches/tools/etc. http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1060141-mod-recommendations-for-new-players/page__hl__recommendations (helpful even if you don't use mods, the two community patches are essential)

As far as wondering how deficient a system can be and still run morrwind, I think I take the cake. I run it on the only computer I currently have: a Gateway LT21 netbook with no video memory, 1 gig of ram, a 1.66 cpu clock and a hard drive spinning at 4200 rpm. oh, and it's running windows 7 starter (which is also a steaming pile of daedra dung). Point is that any modern computer will be able to run Morrowind in some capacity. Just install the program in it's own folder on the c drive (or whatever your hard drive is called) and you should be fine.
