Changing Faces NPC Replacer not working?

Post » Tue Aug 02, 2011 4:31 pm

I'm playing modded Morrowind for the first time. I managed to get MGE installed and working properly. I wanted to change NPC faces so I downloaded http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=661 mod. I've copied the files in the Meshes and Textures folders across to the Meshes and Textures folders in Morrowind okay, but I load the game and the NPCs still have the old faces. What am I doing wrong?

Have you enabled the esp in the launcher or in Wrye Mash? Changing Faces isn't a pluginless replacer like Vvardenfell Visages, if I remember correctly, so it needs more than just the meshes and texture files.

I don't have Wyre Mash whatever that is. The plugin doesn't appear in the list of plugins under Data Files on the Morrowind launcher.

http://wryemusings.com/Wrye%20Mash.html is a very useful usermade program that helps keep track of your mods, edit load order and fix certain problems that come up with savegames etc. You can also use it to enable plugins instead of loading up the launcher. There are other people who would be able to explain it better than I can, though; I generally only use the very basic functions.

As far as your problem goes, did you copy the esp over to your data files folder as well as the meshes and textures? If you did, it should definitely be showing up in the launcher. I'm not sure what would make it not show up.
