Wands In Skyrim

Post » Tue Aug 02, 2011 8:41 pm

There is no connection between what Todd was saying and wands, because he referred to them as staves. Staves =/= wands. No [censored] connection whatsoever. I am attacking your two-handed comment because a one handed staff is not a wand. It's a staff held in one hand. "Staves" is simply plural for more than one STAFF. A wand is like 1/50 the size and mass of a staff. Big mother[censored] difference. Gandalf held his STAFF with one hand, that does not make it a wand. Nothing you have said makes any sense.

I want you to know that I've read your comment, and I acknowledge you made it. I fail to see the importance of these semantics, though I understand that other people have their own tastes, and their own sensitivies. What I hope you understood is that I was suggesting in my last comment that people who want wands can treat the staves as wands. People who don't want wands can treat the staves like staves. If you feel that my suggestion that others blur the line between staff and wand is offensive to you, and doesn't make any sense, then I cannot be of any help to you. That's all that I have to say on the issue.

Considering the presence of 1h staves, wands can at least be expect to be very easily modded in.

'Why not' is the real question. More variety is a good thing.

Wands? Aye

Why??

We already have them.

In ecclesiastical and formal government ceremonial, special officials may carry a wand of office or staff of office representing their power.

in The Hobbit, he is said to use a wand, referring to his staff, to fight the goblins of the Misty Mountains and their Wargs)

It would be great to have smaller wizard staffs (or rather wands) that weighed less and had less charge in them.

In fact if by wand we mean a magical object shorter than a staff, and if that object looked more serious than a staff, I think that a wand would be much better than in TES than the staffs of present, seeing as in Oblivion you couldn't use them as a blunt weapon, which detracted from their usefulness. An enchanted dagger was just as powerful, replaceable and gave you extra damage after using all the charges up. I think it was also slightly lighter.

wands are so lame, they are for children! A mages staff is so much more elegant and badass. Although the best kind of spell is one that comes from your own hands!

No one wants that [censored] crap in Skyrim.

Refrain from that sort of language. It devalues the entire community.

Slightly less than 1/3 would like them, so your wrong.

Ya know.. Just no.

But books of ancient power that are help in one hand, open and then we cast stronger spells from our other hand, that'd be cool. No idea what lore says about them though. The tome of unlife is one, in a way.

Also, Fiore1300, 100 divided with 300 is 1/3, not 1/2.

I really don't see why not, although they would have to have some defining features that distinguish them from staves (apart from looks). I think the idea of making them unrechargeable (is that a word?!) sounds good. Count me in.

This debates been done to death, within the first month of this forum even. One handed and two handed staves have been confirmed I beleive.

Wands are not for wusses etc. Mythology and fantastical theology has revolved around the wand since time immemorial. From the Caduceus to the Sceptre. Originally a medium for power, to focus energy and magic, similer to a conductor's baton. Its all in Tobin's Spirit Guide. Nothing Harry about those Potters, friends.

Was Willow a Wuss? ..thats like a tongue twister, and a wrist band.
