Very new to Oblivion, Probably Very Simple Answer to this Qu

Post » Thu Aug 04, 2011 6:24 pm

Hi, as mentioned, I'm brand new to Oblivion. Seems very cool so far, but I'm having a problem which may be a result of my own stupidity: How can I drop equipment from my inventory? I'm still in the sewers at the game's introduction and I've picked up 150 lbs worth of stuff and now I'm over encumbered. I've tried searching for a way, but I can't for the life of me seem to figure out how to drop equipment or items. Like I have all these bones and skulls that I picked up earlier just because they were there, and in most games, it's good to grab everything when first starting out, so you can sell it when in town, but now I can't walk and I can't figure out how to drop a few of these stupid items.

I know there's probably a really easy answer to this issue, but could someone please give me a hand here? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks for taking the time to read a post from a total noob.

I only know the controls for playing on PC. On a PC, you open your inventory, hold down the shift key and click on the undesired item(s). When you close your inventory, the item(s) will fall to the ground.

Alternatively, you can open any container (even a corpse) and at the lower part of your screen, select to look at your inventory instead of the container's inventory. While looking at your inventory you can click on any undesired items and they will transfer to the container.

Hope that helps.

Edit: Oops, ninja'd! :)

It would be 10x times faster to look at the game manual than to post here.

^ These

If you don't want to drop anything, and aren't against cheating, and on PC, just hit "~" and type "tgm" (without quotes). This activates god mode, and you'll have infinite encumbrance, can't get hurt, etc. You can keep it on until you sell some stuff.

The method I use is to left-click and hold on the unwanted item, then drag to the side of and off the inventory screen. It will appear on the main screen being held by your mouse pointer, and you can actually "throw" it away by shaking the mouse cursor from side to side.

First, go over the item so it is highlighted. Next press X if you're playing on Xbox or Square if your playing on PS3.

you could do that, but it seems it be a bit slow if you're trying to get rid of numerous items.
