How you met Crysis.

Well, I was scanning back in my mind one day, and I remembered the first time I played Crysis. It was an interesting story, so I decided I will ask you guys you Crysis hook up story.
Mine was...
That I got this gaming computer in a trade from my uncle, I traded him a jeep. :P in trade for this computer, and a gun.
But so I had this nice big ol' custom built computer, and I named it Big Fat Goy... because this thing was massive compared to my old rig. 'Crappy Dell optiplex Gx 150 [I think]' But this thing was nice compared to the times back then.
But it had all these games installed on it, and there was Crysis. [First one] and I couldn't really tell what the icon was. I thought it was a mountain or something, so I had this computer, and I never payed mind to Crysis, I played my nifty 'Need for speed most wanted' That game was hella cool to me.
And so I had seen Crysis played before by my uncle, and by my brother. But never cared for it. [I actually thought it was stupid, and I was happy to be playing NFSMW' I did not like first person shooters back then.
But one day, my mum was like 'yo dude you gotta hear these sounds for this game'
and I was like alright, what game.
So she opened Crysis.
And we both drooled over the sounds of the EA, Crytek [Maxium game], Nvidia, and Intel.
and man that was cool. I was like 'maan that is badass'
and she was like 'yup, but listen to the fans pick up.'
and those babies where purring. Man it was so cool, but when she went into gameplay.... aaaah man.. that is when I lost it.
you hear the first part of all the sounds of a bran new campaign in Crysis, and you are bound to loose it.
but so she let me play, and I spent like 5 hours messing with all the crabs, and ducks on the first little beach.
and then I started playing it... but I really only liked it cause I could mess around with all the workable items. I would make little towns, and then Crysis just really stuck with me.
and then I started playing like a normal person [like playing how it should]
and it was just the coolest thing ever. It really was what I claim to be 'raised' on.
I mean a story about an awesome suit, koreans, and aliens... of course a person like me is gunna love it!

so a few years later, here I am. with a huge Crysis obsession, and I still tell my uncle that he formed a monster. 'a crysis monster'
and I still use 'Big fat goy' for all of my gaming needs. :) runs crysis 2 fine. for a computer built back in 2006.

But tell me your Crysis stories. Maybe they will be even BETTER than my crazy story.

Story reminds me of Kephri for some reason.

I first started playing Crysis because you could cloak like ghost in the shell :X. Crysis wars was the first FPS multiplayer that I had played for quite some time and it gave quite a work out to my then new computer. I was really impressed by some of the Crysis wars maps, some of the C2 dlc maps are good but not enough people play them. One of the fun things in crysis wars, was finding the alternate route to get onto roofs and higher levels in order to surprise attack people :D.

Quite sure the cloak was inspired by the Predator...

As for me I saw some reviews of Crysis and I thought it was a pretty cool game until I realized my crappy Geforce FX5200 couldn't run it (despite the fact that on a laptop with GMA950 graphics it would work, even though it was only about 10 fps; I used a cool little program called 3D anolyze to get it to run, and I figured that considering even my FX5200 was still crap, it was at least more than twice as fast as the GMA950 and would have run Crysis on minimum graphics. Too bad 3D anolyze didn't play well with it)

Then I got a new PC with a GTX260 and by then I forgot all about Crysis, I was too busy playing Red Alert 3 (with its AWESOME water effects) then I remembered "hey why don't I try out Crysis!", so I did, and I loved it

My uncle gave my Crysis, but I didn't install it for like 2 years :P Finally, when I cleaned my DVD's I found Crysis and installed it...

Only the movies, especially the second lack similarities. Stand Alone Complex has a lot of similarities at least to game play. Not storywise. In terms of philosophy they are different too. Unfortunately crisis 2 lacks tanks for some reason... It was almost as if it was because another game did not have tanks.

Yea :P All I meant was GITS offers and inspires so much more than cloak ability lol
I'm not a big fan of tanks, imagine piloting Tachikomas though, that would be a different thing altogether lol

My story starts three years ago, when I got my first notebook at Christmas. At that time, I was a convinced PS3 gamer and I thought that a PC could never display the graphics of the PS3. Then, one day, while browsing the internet, I saw some pics of Crysis. I couldn′t believe my eyes. I had never seen such a beautiful game before. I even tried the demo on my notebook (hd 3650m), though it was unplayable xD. I started informing myself about the hardware of the PS3 and found out, that it was already outdated and not comparable to new PC hardware. After a lot of research on hardware, I build my own PC in the summer of 2009 (I7, 6GB RAM, GTX 295). And guess what I did when I was finished: I played Crysis (Warhead), my very first PC game. And since then, the PS3 is used only occasionally, while I am playing erveryday on my rig. The 295 has been replaced by a GTX 580, since it overheated while playing Crysis xD. Without Crysis, I would have probably stayed a PS3 gamer, so it actually changed a lot for me.
That′s how I met Crysis.

Cloak was from Predator, 'nuff said. lol

And also it's funny in Crysis 1 in the logo screen where it says "Maximum Game" and it sounds like "Maximum gay"

I think my story is going to be one of the most normal ones. I went to my friend's house, and when he showed me Crysis trailer and played a little bit of it, I was convinced that it was a good game and got it too, hahaha.

Maybe because I got my son hooked on games after he watched me play Heretic/Hexen/UT?

I never played Crysis 1, but about a month ago I walked past my son while he was playing Crysis 2 and watched while he was being annihilated by everyone on the server, it was such a different style of gameplay and perhaps after not playing anything in awhile (uni/art takes precedence) it was too much not to buy and try it, hooked ever since.

I still get massacred but its too much fun anyways :D

(now seriously thinking about investing in a gaming rig because this old non gaming beast is struggling - just when i thought I had finally become almost sensible ;)

I used to just play strategy games (AoM was my favourite game ever) and Diablo 2 and things like that, until one of my best friends got talking about Crysis, he would constantly ask me if I'd tried it or bought it yet and I hadn't, I dunno he just was always talking about it so I looked it up one day and found out there was a demo for Crysis 1 out. So I got it and man it was **** awesome it was the first level of the single player campaign and when I finished it man me and my brother went straight down to the shop t buy it. We got there and saw that they only had Crysis Warhead which when we asked was the newest one so we got it and **** it was awesome. Had to share time on our "good pc" to play it. Eventually he moved out and I had Crysis Wars all to my self = over 1000 hours of play. And then I got Crysis 2 on my 18th birthday.

WINNING. (Still I can't wait for Diablo 3, Diablo 2 was almost as good as Crysis Wars. Haha.)

Well, where should I start?

I was a FPS player since I was 6, busying to play CS 1.6. I loved it!! I just couldnt stop playing it!

But what happen on one fine day, I met a game called "CoD". Back then, it was Modern Warfare 1. I loved the graphic then so much! That was the time I realise that FPS are all almost the same! Every game I had played then was a CS and CoD. I saw the differences between those two. (yeah, I thought CoD was the best graphic FPS I had ever seen lol) More guns, attachments like Red Dot (I love Red Dot!!) silencer, these stuff made me unable to stop playing it.

I was a fan of CoD, I bought MW2 and WaW. These made me even love it more. But still, I was thinking that FPS is just a stupid kind of game that u just spray and pray and that's it, until I met Crysis.

"Love at first sight", would be the way I reacted on Crysis on youtube a few years ago. I was amazed by the graphic!! In fact, it is one of the most beautiful game graphic I have ever seen in my entire of my f*cking life!! I was enthusiastic for the graphic, my jaw dropped down and my eyes were bumping like hearts.

I was and am loving Crysis series from the graphic, but not just that. There is something I still wanted more about FPS. I watched the mummy and saw people just got dragged into shadow one-by-one without anyone could do anything, I was like, "I wish I could do that in FPS". Run in the shadows, people cant see you but hearing you around, atmosphere turns frightened and jumping off the shadows, smashing someone from behind.

Yes, you're right, cloaking.

It is the coolest feature I have ever seen in any FPS game. I feel like a ninja, jumping around and break people's neck from behind, I was like, WOW THIS IS FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!!!

That was why i bought warhead. No, I have never played Crysis 1 before, I wish I could, but anyway warhead is attractive enough to make me addict to the series. So I was waiting for Crysis 2 and it did came out!!!

I rushed to game shop and purchased it right away. I love to cloak, a lot. You can see it from my stat, I use cloak about 4 times more than armor. It is my dream, everyday I enter the game, it just make me smile. Despite some problems, I still stick to this series until, perhaps, crysis 5 (if there is lol)

Conclusion? I love cloaking, and that's the reason why I am still here.

MAXIMUM FUN!!!

I met her on a Monday, took her for a drink on Tuesday...

Seriously..

I came across it on a game magazine. Saw a demo, and tried it. Played on lowest settings, was still pretty fun.
