Wha...?

TES: Daggerfall is my favorite game as of this moment. This is odd, because normally I can't jump backwards in series and enjoy it (missing features, poor graphics, bugs). I'm very happy I took the risk :D The only difficulty is... well, it's difficulty. The first dungeon is far too difficult IMO. It took a googling to figure out how to leave, and about a half hour (while using the tutorial) to figure out how to swing my sword. However, I love how you can miss (though it isn't practical in later games), and it's general D&D feel :D

Yeah, the first dungeon is pretty nasty. Especially that imp. Daggerfall can be pretty unforgiving, and I like that ab out it. Of course, once you really get to know the game, it gets much easier.

As for going backwards, Daggerfall actually has features the others didn't as well, and the grittiness of the graphics actually add to the atmosphere in many ways. At least to me.

Glad you found a new obsession :)

I always enjoy hearing about people playing Daggerfall for the first time. It can be unforgiving, but that's part of its charm!

Don't feel bad about getting lost in the first dungeon. The retail game actually came with a step-by-step guide for getting out alive. If not for that, I think most of us would still be stuck at the imp.
