Realisticness

Post » Fri Aug 05, 2011 10:51 am

This has been on my mind. I was thinking that this game is also going to have very good graphics. However there also could be minor details which could change and enhance the realism in the game. For example. When running uphill, your character should not be able to run as fast as they would heading down a hill and the same concept goes for swimming. And also when in creating your character you should be able to change the height and weight for your character to your liking. I have also been thinking on thievery. Lets use a shop for instance. If someone were to steal from there the owner would restock on supplies, and maybe different ones sometimes. Now many people would say "Oh, restocking just svcks the fun out of the game because you can just steal, steal, steal." Well. If you actually think about it. Isnt it your CHOICE to keep stealing? I believe it would give a great opportunity for the thieves of this community. And also on a related tab, the owner would mention something about it to you if you had strung up a conversation with this particulate individuall or people that had this mentioned to them by the shopkeeper. I also think that the shopkeeper should mention to the guards about the break in and hire them or even you to investigate (depending on your relationship with the character) the crime. And if this thieve had struck again his/her notoriety would grow and perhaps wanted posters would show up. As i mentioned before about all of the thieves of the game, im sure they would like it to maybe be noticed as a great thieve.
I also think that there should be a way to knock out your opponent wether it be from hand to hand contact or a hit from the hilt of your sword, and that you would either have the choice to finish him off or to leave them be.

I've said this before:

Really? We are officially expecting too much of this game...

Should armor rust?
Should clothes stain if we spill mead on them?
Should we be able to wash our clothes in a body of water?
Should we be able to render animal fat into oil for lamps/torches?
Should be tie our shoes?

I mean- where does it end? This game is gonna be as realistic as it's gonna get for now.

And since it is a personal tick of mine- There are numerous words (including the thread title) that don't exist. I don't mean to flame you about the grammar... just a pet peave of mine.

You remind me of the days when I played RPGs on a table with dice.

I agree with you, but what your saying might be a little too much for the devs.

Stuff like that would just make the game annoying

The uphill part might be in though, only time will tell, least I haven't seen any clear gameplay of an uphill run.

Yes, if there is a way to restore it back to normal
See above.
Yes.
Not necessary.

Realisticness. :teehee:

I think it's entirely realistic to allow us to dual-wield shields.

Restocking would be okay. Just have the shelves and tables be a kind of 'respawn' node of sorts. Oh and another simple thing, every time you break into a shopkeepers lock it'll get harder as he 'buys a better set of locks'. There are things that are simple enough to do, but you'd have to use imagination to come up with how they got to be the way they are.

well. those ideas that you had come up with are and is, as well are mine, expecting much more out of the game. but your sarcastic ideasare different in a way. but that would be pretty awesome if we had those incorporated into this.

I believe the running uphill and swimming are already effected by weight/encumbrance and have been covered in previous installments. I expect the same of Skyrim to some degree.

There is a difference between realistic and realism. I think skyrim has a nice balance of both (as far as we know).
