How important is Dead Money to the story of Ulysess?

Post » Fri Aug 05, 2011 7:03 pm

Title pretty much says it all, I've played all the dlc's except for Dead Money which I originally had to uninstall because it corrupted my saved games for some reason. Im thinking about trying to re-install it this weekend but im not sure if I want to take the chance on losing the character I've made to take to the divide or not. So to the people that have played it (most of you im sure) excatly how much important information does it give you on Ulysess? I know Christine is supposed to give you a lot on him but what else is there that I might be missing out on, and how vital is her info to the story? If you could avoid spoilers to that would be great, because if I am going to play it I'd like to get the full effect of being suprised by whats in it.

Edit: Son of a biscuit wrong forum.

Edit number two: Thanks for the move Rough.

All I remember is that the end slides talk about the Divide and Ulysses quite a bit, but as for the actual gameplay, not sure. I haven't played in months.

Christine's and Dog's endings mention the upcoming battle at the Divide, but nothing else. Christine makes some mentions of him, too.

More then honest hearts, but WAY less then OWB. You can just read it on the fallout wiki.

Its not really you get literally 1 line about him and its about as revealing as the 1 line from HH, neither of which are as important as the tapes in OWB which contain what little info DM and HH gave you about him, really I don't think any of it was necessary since theres very little real information it was however a great connection between the dlc's and a really good way to build up a character giving us a few hints that just raise more questions about him but we've really learned nothing that will probably be told in the LR intro if not the radio signal.

Awesome what I think I'll do then is just do then is watch the DM ending on YouTube and then read the rest of the story on the wiki. I was under the impression from the way a lot of people talked that DM was really kind of what got the whole Ulysses story rolling and if I left that part out I'd really be missing something important, anyways thanks for the answers everybody appreciate it.

It did get the ball rolling, but only because it was the first real mention of the guy. Christine says some things about him but nothing more than what you already find in Old World Blues (he wants to meet you, he wears the flag on his back, etc).

So yeah, skip it if you're only in it for Ulysses info.

I think its an extension of what Nash says in Primm at first, since its the first DLC its supposed to draw you in with "Things yet to come" when you speak to Christine.
