Crytek-Follow Brink's Lead - Free Weekend Play & More

Post » Sat Aug 06, 2011 8:00 am

Not comparing the 2 games but maybe Crytek could get a few pointers from the BRINK people.
This weekend, BRINK is allowing players to play the game for free and dropped the game price 50%.
They also gave the DLC for free (Aug 3 thru 17th) to those that already have the game (as compensation for the problems) and dropped the price of the DLC 50% to all the new buyers.
The effect is obvious by the traffic on the servers and the people with the DLC maps and the new players buying the game.
If BRINK can get this kind of results, imagine what it could do for Crysis 2.

Crrytek isn't as big as bethseda as well as crysis 2 is not on steam like brink is so it wouldn't be as effective as brink at it plus crysis 2 lost it a lot of it's customer base already.

Brink svcks. Crysis 2 engine is so much better than ID's tech4 engine. It's a real shame Crysis 2 didn't stay on board with Steam. I'm sure they will lose millions in revenue by the path they chose.
