Well I imagine that a 'threshold' is a minimum limit that you have to cross to inflict damage or do any real damage and a 'resistance' is just a general percentage (or something) of a weapon's damage that is not taken.. Not a computer player so just going purely off the terminology.

Thats pretty much exactly what it is as far as I understand it.

With DR, if a weapon does 15 damage and your armor (or a combination of armor, perks, chems, and such) has a DR of 50, then 50 percent of the weapons damage will be negated.

With DT, the if you have 28 DT, then a weapon needs to do over 28 damage in order for any real hurt to be inflicted on your character.

Yeah, like what has been mentioned.

DR of 50 removes a percentage of 50 from the damage dealt to you (shot for 10 damage minus 50% equals 5 damage)

DT of 50 removes a solid amount of 50 from the damage dealt to you (shot for 10 damage minus 50 damage equals 0 damage)

Is it always zero though? I'm almost positive that I've been dealt some damage by a .22 silenced pistol when wearing combat armor. Not much at all, but some.

Well... Obsidian put in a 20% bleed-through no matter what, I think. It isn't much damage, but I did kill a BoS paladin with fists only once. Took a long time, though, and a lot of running in circles around him. Kind of like taking down a Behemoth with an assault rifle by running backwards and shoot.

But there are mods that remove the bleed-through, or let you set your own.
