Oblivion CS crashes

Post » Sun Aug 07, 2011 11:39 am

Whenever I try to preview an NPC's face or make a new world cell, i get the message to say that the construction set is not working and it then forces me to close it. This is very annoying.
I have the Steam version of Oblivion, NOT installed into Program files. I have installed the CS extender, but being computer illiterate I can't get the CS to run though it.
Any advice welcome!

Do you have OBSE installed? If you do, create a shortcut to obse_launcher.exe. Right click properties, under target add -editor to the end of it. Then run the shortcut.

I've tried this- i get a message saying 'couldn't read arguments' when I run the shortcut (i have tried running it as admin)
Any idea why?

I've done the same with obse_steam_loader but this is a .dll file and my computer can't open it
Do you know what I need to open this?
Thanks!

SomeWelshGuy meant obse_loader I think. Also, you might need quotes around the target if there are spaces in the directory names.

My target looks like this:

C:\Games\Oblivion\obse_loader.exe -editor

Did you do something similar? Now I'm not running the Steam version, so I can't say for sure. But I'm pretty sure you would still use obse_loader for the CS.
