There are 9 holds in Skyrim. There are 8 cities listed in the old map. The question is, what is the capital of the 9th hold?

Now, looking at the CE, where we can see the capitals are written in red and have a large symbol on them, whereas smaller towns have a smaller, less noticeable symbol, we can see the missing capital is Morthal, which I don't think I've heard of in the lore before. It doesn't seem to match up to any location on the arena map. Anyway, there we go, now all we need is to work out the name of the final hold! All I can tell is that it has a fairly long name and seems to start with an H. Has anyone worked out what the name might be?

The unknown Hold on your map I think is called Hjaalreach or Hjaalmarch (if you blow up the image you can see Hj---- and "ch" for the final letters. And the capital of that Hold is Morthal.

Also, I believe Haafinheim is the name of the Hold containing Solitude/ Haafingar

Since we're on the subject of cities/holds, does anyone have any info on Helgen? Reiner mentioned in his GI preview that the Whiterun guards said the city is closed off due to the recent Dragon attack at Helgen.

Hm, I haven't heard of Helgen. Would you mind linking the article? I don't think I've read it.

Also, anyone else think Morthal sounds evil?

I bet the capital is Whiterun, its almost exactly in the middle and its one of the biggest cities in Skyrim

Whiterun is the capital of White Hold.

Morthal is in the mountain range directly to the North of White Hold.

Capital of what? Skyrim? No, it's not. That will probably be Windhelm, the biggest city, which is said to have a major palace in lore. That is if there is an official "capital of Skyrim".
